hi everyone, i have an interview on thursday at a place i've dreamed of working at and i'm so excited!

they said i may have to do a trade test and to bring something comfortable to wear or my uniform. should i just wear my uniform or go in trousers and shirt etc and take my uniform with me?

and nails - should i have them a natural pale colour, french or colour? at the moment i'm wearing bright colours for spring/summer but is this not really suitable for an interview?

any advice is appreciated. thanks :D

wear salon uniform and pale nails. looks professional and take you seriously xx

Salon uniform and no varnish as some salons will not allow you to wear it. Good luck huni x

Hi,
I think that wearing your uniform will set the right tone and show that you 'mean business'. Also, having your nails nice and manicured will show that you take pride in yourself and showcase what you can do. Maybe it's worth pointing out at the interview, that if you were to be doing mainly skin-work, you would keep them more natural looking.
Good Luck

Agree with the above, definatly the uniform & either, pale, french or no nail varnish. (maybe even hair up, depending on how strict the salon seems with other therapists dress codes)
Good luck hun - keep us posted on how it goes! x

Yes i also agree to wear your uniform and either french or no nail varnish because if it chips then it will look a mess and some salons do not like you to wear nail varnish. First impressions are so important especially in this industry so make it count! Good luck hun xx

thanks everyone

do you think it would be ok to take a bit of paper with notes on in with me because i really dont want to forget to say anything or miss anything important out?

x

Yes - why not.
You could have a few questions jotted down in case you forgot to ask them.
However, I wouldn,t spend too much time writing things down (maybe just use random words) as this can disrupt the flow of the interview. You don,t want the interviewer to have to wait while you write eveythign down.
Best of luck

i wouldnt be writing things down while being interviewed (sorry didnt explain very well), i meant i'd write down some possible answers to questions and some questions to ask and take that with me.
thanks

I think to take a notepad with questions you want to ask and being prepared to take notes, shows how serious you are about the position that you have prepared and take time before for the interview!!!

Good luck let us know how it goes

thought i'd update everyone
the interview went well and i got a call saying that i was successful and asking me to go back for a trade test on monday!! really excited now.
they said make sure your nails are short because i'll have to do a back massage, i have extensions on at the moment so do you think i should just file them down lots or soak them off?
i dont think i'll be allowed to wear them if i get the job. x

Soak them off. If you will not be allowed to wear them while working, you dont want it to be an issue at trade test. The fact that they noticed and asked you to shorten them gives you a clue.
Best of luck x
