I got my konad set yesterday and it wasn't as easy as it looked on the video,it never ever is! So i did a search then taking the advice i'd found tried again and it worked perfectly, soooooooooo happy theres some fun to be had with this.:?: The only thing i wondered is can the acrylic paints be used instead of the konad polish, thanks if anyone knows x

Yeah welcome to the fun world of Konad, your evenings will never be dull again ;)

Not sure what effect you'd get from acrylic paint but the basis is the same as the special polish.

Happy stamping

Hi Wendy,

Please could you let me know wht tips/advice you got for Konad please.

I just got my kit out again after packing it away because I was getting frustrated with it, I cant seem to get it to work :(

Thank you so much in advance

Oh no get it out again quick your missing out lol . The main problem i had was picking up the polish onto the stamper because i was over scrapping the plate thinking it had to be completely clean. It also helps to wipe both the plate and stamper with polish remover before you start.I did a search and everyone else seemed to have this problem.hth x

You also need to work very fast as the polish dries so quickly.

You don't have to be neat just slap the polish on the image, quick scrape (Konad logo face up 45% angle) then roll your stamper over and roll it straight onto your nail.

You need to give it a good wipe before you start and then I wipe it every 3rd nail or so, with non-moisturising remover, depending on how much mess I am making ;). The best way to clean it during your session is to keep the cotton wool between your fingers near your knuckles as you then won't smudge your nails.

Enjoy xx

I've found the only part you have to be really quick with, is picking the image up onto the stamper once you've scraped it. Once I figured that out it was easy.

Has anyone thought about setting up a Konad group on here? Or is there one already and I haven't found it yet?

It could be like a support group for all us konad addicts :D and somewhere to show off our designs.

I don't know about acrylic paint with it, it may be a little thin. If you do try it remember to use an water based paint and let us know how it turns out!

Yes let us know if it works, it would give us a wider choice of colours. If I had any paint I would try it myself.

It was the colours i was thinking of i'd like some bright colours for summer neons etc i'll go to my local craft shop and see what water based paints they have .Ithink a group is an exellent idea kirsty. x

I bought the kit a couple of weeks ago but find the special and my own top coat just smudges the image of the nail plate (makes the image bleed) so got annoyed and packed it away. How long does it take to dry before appling topcoat?

I love my Konad plates. Really popular with my younger clients. Has brought me lots of mums as clients. I find if you put on the top coat with a slightly more loaded brush so you don't drag the top coat it helps. Hope that makes any sense. The images look fantastic if you use two colours and blend while dragging. Gives amazing two tone results. You can use ordinary polish too but only on a light base colour.

Thanks annasmum :D

anyone want to start a group,i've had a look n dont know how x
