Hi geeks. I am just about to launch myself as a mobile nail tech and spray tan tech. My question is - as I will be working around my 'day job' do I need to put hours of business on leaflets/flyers? Do you think this would put people off? Dont know if this is a daft question, feeling a bit nervous. If anyone has any advice, I'd be really grateful. Thanks. DawnieF:confused:

Hi i cant offer advice from experience but opinions sometimes can help!
i just think if u put times down if they were not suitable to me i would prob not keep the leaflet where as if it did not say times i would ring you (at least if they do not have a treatment with you, you would know that there is a market out there for other times if you wanted to extend later and the other alternative is that they book in because they got your leaflet and they become repeat client!!).

probably people with experience who may be able to offer more help hope this makes sense!!

Hi ya
I don't put what times I do down as I'm pretty flexible but I have noticed that when people ring it's easier to get them to book at a time you do work if that makes sense???

sorry forgot to say that you could put down late evening and weekend appointments if you do them that is

Hiya

You could put something along the lines of 'flexible appointments' and then if someone calls you but wants a time when you aren't available, just tell them that you're sorry but the only time you have on that day is xxx and leave the ball in their court. Eventually you will have regulars and you will be able to tell them you have a full time job until this picks up then you will be able to offer other times as well.

Just a thought :)

That sounds good to me. Thanks to you all :)

i worked in a salon 3 days til i got enough clients to go solo....
i used to just say i can do such a time or such a time.... making it clear i was 'busy' on the days i worked in the salon, this way they think you are really popular haha and you can call the shots when you do the clients,,
does that make sense??
better to let them think you are available. xxxxxxxx

What great advice, i am also just in the process of designing my leafets and was a little worried about my opening times as i am in the same position as you (also working full time).
From reading this post i have just put flexible opening times including evening and weekends, Let me know how you got on xx

Hi, I have my own spray tanning business and work that around a full time day job.

I don't put my hours on any of my advertising. Most people want a tan in the evening after work so I don't find it a problem fitting people in. I do work until 11pm a lot of nights though when i have tanning parties etc. I find that a lot of my clients are quite flexible and you always manage to slot them in somewhere. It really depends on how flexible you are and how many many hours you are prepared to work.

Good luck on your new venture..

I'm with the gang on this. My leaflets don't say where or when I work - just that the service is available. From the start I knew I'd have to work when my customers weren't working. As long as your copy is good enough to make them call - you can always say that you don't have any appoinments free until 6pm that day.

Jason.
