how long should it take me to do a full leg wax in my salon? i have 3 leg waxes in tomorrow and dont want my clients to think im taking too long with them!i normally do it in just over 45minutes is this too long?

I sometimes dream of being able to do a full leg wax in 45mins! 60 - 90mins for me, but then some of my guys are big rugby types with huge legs!

I personally don't think 45 mins is unreasonable. Especially with care and attention. However, there will always be clients who tell you their previous therapist did it in x number of minutes.

If you want to improve your speed, you could try speed waxing, where you apply as much wax as possible before starting to remove. But be careful, because unless you are using a premium wax, it will 'dry' on the leg if you are not quick enough.

I did a full leg and bikini yesterday in 35 mins, BUT the lady was small, and like ZoZo says, I use a premium brand which does make all the difference.

Practice brings your speed up too but I think it's better to do a thorough job than a quick one.:)

I dont think its unreasonable but over time you will find out what your average time is. Leave yourself a bit more time at the beginning as the last thing you want to do is be put under pressure because your next client is waiting.

Depending on the wax you use you can apply the wax to larger areas of the leg (ie the whole front) and then remove it all together rather than doing small areas which takes longer but you have to know your wax because some will not allow you to apply large areas without getting hard or brittle.

It all depends on your client!
Some are hairier than others, some have coarser hair, some have longer legs, some are larger ladies and some like to chat!
I would aim between 30-40 mins and book out 45 mins.
Everyone is different. I did a bikini wax today in less than 10 mins and did one last week that took me 40 mins!

I took my waxing exam on Sunday, takes me ages to do a leg wax (baring in mind that I have only waxed 3 legs before), my teacher told me I must do it in 30 minutes to pass my NVQ, for me its simply impossible, how do City and Guilds get these times, seriously I like to do a good job and have a happy client with no fuzzy bits, loads of times I've had my legs waxed and have seen patches that have been missed, and yes I know all about how important timings are etc, having sat about 12-13 exams so far all asking why its soooo important to not run over blah blah blah, let me perfect it before I become a speed waxer pleaseeeee.

45 minutes is fine - it depends how 'BIG' the client is too on this one and how hairy but normally 45 minutes .....when you're doing exams they are more harsh on timings but after that you can do things your way. I personally prefer to take my time and make sure clients and happy and will return but if you're doing back to back waxing allow and hour for each (set up etc) and you should be ok!

To start off, allow an hour and aim for 45 mins. Then, as you become faster, aim for 30mins. All clients are different. xx

I agree with you Mat, women dont have half the hair on there legs like guys do, when i was at college they told me a full leg wax went up to mid thigh, and should take 30 to 35 mins to do which was what it was when i did womens legs, but with all the guys i do their hair just carries on upto the very top, and the leg hair also tends to be much thicker, so there is no short cuts, with guys legs, so like you, for me it tends to be around the 60 to 90 mins lol, regds Phil

I find mens legs easier to do as the hair is either there or not. With women, you're having to look from all angles.

I did a full body wax on a man today and it took me 1.5hrs. That was everything including Intimate, Brows and Nostrils. It can be done quickly. You've gotta have a system.

I've got something up my sleeve that will help you all wax more quickly, male and female. Watch this space!!!!

Kim this sounds VERY interesting:lol: I'm watching this space

Thanks for all the advice guys! ye i have done ITEC and they said 30mins for exam, in a salon its difrnt tho iv realised that nw iv just started my own business!and yes i think its better to do it at my own pace and get all the hairs rather than rushing and leaving lots!
