My portfolio makes ZERO sense to me.
I have complete my mani, pedi, health and safty units ect but i dont knw what i need to cover for fibreglass/silk, maintance, natural overlay, nail art ect.
Like how many tip overlays do i have to do ect
Do i have to do a certian type of nail or a certian amount of times ect

This may make no sense but any help will do!

Hi, level 2 City & Guilds covers manicure, pedicure, health & safety and working in the nail industry. You will need to go on to level 3 for nail enhancements but need to complete level 2 first.

If you are getting in a pickle, I'd speak to your Tutor, she can provide you with a checklist for each unit for which ranges you need to cover. Don't Panick, it does look pretty confusing... but you will get there... x

Hi,

For your practical assessments you will need to do 1x set of natural tips and overlay, 1x set of natural nail overlays, 1x maintenance of natural nail overlays , 1 x maintenance of either tip n overlay or natural nail overlay , you will also have to do a full set removal, a repair using fibreglass or silk , and also youll need to do a pale polish, dark polish and a french polish and buff the other set to high shine.

For the C&G nvq l2 , someone might correct me if im wrong but you dont have to do fibreglass as part of it anymore, im pretty sure you can choose to do l&p or gel instead. They change the unit from BT 12 to BT44( ? something like that)

The nails dont have to be a certain shape but obviously youll fill in the client record card before you start and have all the clientsexpecations from the treatment on there.

Purelynailz may be right but it is a bit misleading. Doing 1 of each of those services for a final assessment is far from the whole story! You have evidence of observations, many treatments on different clients, lots of evidence supporting all the background knowledge and skills etc etc

Plus formal assessments (and there should be several to demonstrate the learning process) should be carried out in a salon environment on a paying client.

I don't want people to think that you do a bit of training, have an assessment on each of the required services once and off you go. There is a lot more to it
