I've only ever used Thuya Light Brown tint for brows on blonde ladies, and it gives the perfect colour, but it doesn't last very long because Thuya is only 1% Peroxide.

I'm thinking of switching to Fortune(3%) or Combinal (10%) but they don't have a Light Brown tint. Does anyone know how to achieve a Light Brown with these lines?

Any help is appreciated!

How long is the tint lasting on your ladies? And how long do you leave it on for? I use Thuya and haven't yet had a problem, most clients return every 4 weeks to be re-done which is perfect.

Try mixing brown and grey. Thats what I do!

PURE: I was leaving it on for 10 minutes on brows (whcih seems to last about 2 weeks), but recently changed to 15 minutes, which works better, and I have colleagues who do it for 20 minutes on the lashes, which I think is ridiculous. I don't charge very much, so I'd like brows to take less than 10 minutes. Thuya used to be so good, but I think they changed something. I work part-time for a beauty supplier here, and we've been getting complaints, although the people we get Thuya from insist that everything is the same. Did you notice that the Black looks purplish now?

PINK: Does your technique come out a taupe colour? Some of my blondes have a warmer hue to their hair, so a light honey brown is what I'm after.

Can I use a stronger peroxide from another brand and get the the colour to last longer, or will that also make the colour darker? Don't want that...

I have noticed that the black has a purple tinge to it, but then I've only been using Thuya for a short while so can't compare it to what it used to be like. Have you tried just using the brown instead of the light and leave it on for longer?

The Thuya Brown is definately too dark for these ladies.

Yes, Reflectocil is available in my area. Does it sting?

All tints sting if you get them in the eyes, a good removal technique and application will give no discomfort to the client. Every new client I have says "oh that didn't sting, it always stings" this amazes me, you shouldn't be getting the tint in their eyes. Making sure the mix is not too runny, you don't apply too much at the roots, you are applying it by pulling the brush down away from the roots and removing it by pulling the pads off downwards, first with a dry pad then wiping downwards with wet pads prevents any stinging.

:!: An Australian client told me that in Oz they sometimes apply dampened cotton wool pads soaked in milk afterwards if there is any stinging! believe it or not it does seem to work I tried it on a couple of clients. I suppose the science behind it is that the slight acidity in the milk would neutralise the alkalinity if the tint? or something like that!
I'd forgotten all about it though until I read this thread!
