 Afternoon geeks, feeling a bit down today , Ive lost another client ,due to the fact she doesnt have the time to have her nails done anymore...but thats the third one in two months.

The other two were money situations, but one of which has booked in for some xmas nails at a later date.

The thing is that upsets me most is, Ive gained all three of them this year, and now its hard to let them go .

Just wondered if anybody else was exeriencing the same at the moment??

I can understand its that time of year, but if others are going through it too ,I might feel slightly better.:)

you win some you lose some but dont let it get you down. when you say youve lost another client what do you mean did they say they wouldnt be back??

Well what people say ,I just take with a pinch of salt,as they dont always stick to what they say.

One lady has booked in for some xmas nails for her xmas do, and said she d probly start having them done again later on ,the one I lost today, said she d probly start having them done again later ...when shes not so busy...the other couldnt keep her enhancements on , so I think she just gave up , and blamed it on money.

We ll see , only time will tell,Im sure there ll be some new regulars round the corner...well lets hope.

Ok so they mentioned they might leave it for a wee while just wait and see they'll be back before you know it wanting them done for xmas, etc. Don't let it get you down that some clients dont come regularly I have some regulars and some just come every few months but most importantly they come back to you so keep your chin up and maybe start a loyalty scheme, do some advertising and look forward to increasing your client numbers it just takes time hun thats all. and with things being so slow just now its not just you so dont be disheartened. x

hi i'm going through the same thing i have just completed my nail enhancement course in june 09 and i'm finding it hard to progress and get quicker but i suppose just got o not let it get us down and keep on going!!!!

hi im the same i passed in jul 09 & trying to build up a good client base. Its abit slow at the moment but im just trying to stay posistive & carry on by handing out leaflets etc. Hopfully it will soon pick up with it coming up to christmas, fingers crossed it will. like you said cant let it get to us just got to keep goin :)

See??? If you learned how to use PopIts, you'd be able to offer her a rapid service!!! Time is precious to everyone and those who don't offer a rapid service are going to loose out.

Clients come and go and when you are fairly new, because you don't have a lot of them, it seems a lot worse! Some come back before they say as they miss their nails more than they thought and some never come back. Just don't take it personally, it is not you but the time of year. People have just started thinking about Christmas and how many paydays etc. It takes some time to build a business and a strong client base but it does happen and you won't need to worry so much then as your books will be full and you may even have some people waiting for others to leave you.

What hours do you work? Do you do any evening appointments? If not then I would consider doing this as a lot of girls need to come after work and there are not always places open at that time. You could always start a bit later in the morning or have your quietest day off instead? Be adaptable, work hard and meticulously and don't take things personally, you will be fine!:)

If you check my profile I have trained and am currently using popits!!!,but when youve got a client thats running a pub , it becomes a bit of a nightmare, gutted to of lost her , but at the same time she was a nightmare , up and down ,seeing to Joe Bloggs and whoever was popping in ,but still appreciated her as a client and she didnt mind splashing the cash.:)

Ive been running my nail buisness for two years now,I also have another self emloyed buisness which brings me in a permanant wage each week, and a very active after school daughter, and a husband who I cant rely on ,for child minding due to finishing work at different times , so evenings are a no no for me unfortunatly .

Im sure if I had neither of these obtructions , then I would probly shrug my shoulders and not worry about loosing these guys. But as they fitted in with me , it means alot, and trying to build a decent client base , with obstructions in the way etc is so frustrating , I have turned away many oppertunaties due to circumstances, but I will have to perserver and hang on .

It just frustrates me as soon as you gain a few ,you loose a few ,and its even more frustrating with obstructions in the way and unfortunatly theres no way round them.Sorry bout the grumble , I know we all have our problems ,but had to get that off me chest.:)

Excellent advice!

Wish I could say that was all I've lost over the last few months. I lost 3 clients in one week. And today I lost my 92 year old client who is having to move away because she can't drive anymore. Now don't jump all over me, I'm glad she is doing something so that she will be safe and not driving, but that is another client that won't be back. So no, you are not alone, but we have to just chin up and hang in there. I know I am trying to!! :)
