They need to brush them. Mine did this after the shower ect but the girl who did mine gave me a mascara brush like the wee ones you get in sallys. And i just ran that through them.... sorted. And also using the serum helps.

I thought maybe serum was needed, I told her to try Vaseline at the moment as I never ordered the serum. I'll order a batch today. Thank xx

Would you be able to use Vaseline after a lash lift as it's oil based??

What would vaseline even do?
It just sits on the lashes

I think it will soften the lashes to stop them clumping together until she gets the serum on them, could u recommend anything else? Xx

Like I say its a mineral oil so it wont absorb and soften. It will just sit on the lashes.
What about an oil.. all I can think of is Solar Oil. Or even just almond oil?
Id of thought that would help nourish the lashes and keep them soft.

Really don't understand why people think lash perms and LVL (or lash lifts) are the same. Ye you might use the same basic products in principle but the technique and end result is completely different!

It's like saying curling your hair and straightening it is exactly the same! You use a hair dryer, straighteners and hairspray for both but the end results are nothing alike!

It really confuses me ha!

I agree its not the same as a perm as a different effect is created but it is exactly the same as a lash lift and tint xxx

Hi hoping some if you ladies would be able to help. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I'm suitable for this treatment. I take antihistamine daily due to grass and tree pollen allergy and I'm also allergic to hazelnut but have reacted on my face to cuticle oil. My lashes criss cross and when I did marvelash semi permanent eyelash extensions the trainer said I wasn't suitable for this treatment due to the nature of my lashes.

You'd have to get the therapist you go with to patch test all solutions including nourishing lotion to check you won't have a reaction but other than that you should be fine with a lash lift/lvl.

Although to be honest I can't see any reason why you couldn't have lash extensions if the only problem is your lashes criss cross. I had a model with criss cross lashes when I trained and she was fine my trainer just explained they are more awkward to isolate and the extensions will still cross over but its not a contra indication as far as im aware xxx

Thanks for your reply sarahrose14 one of my spray tan cliens did a groupon course for lvl and when I asked her she said she had spoken to someone and they said not to try but thought I'd ask on here x

Are you allergic to nuts?

I do plenty of people with grass/pollen allergies including myself and I've never had an issue. In fact I find this treatment ideal for when my hayfever is playing up as I don't need mascara so no panda eyes.

I can't wear lash extensions when my hayfevers bad as I rub my eyes too much and this pulls my lashes off so maybe thats why the trainer said lashes aren't suitable xxx

Well I gave my client lvl serum and omg it's worked wonders, totally conditions the lashes, results were instant 👍

Hi Sarahrose14
I'm only allergic to hazelnut. Peanuts showed a negative reaction on skin prick test but when using cuticle oil i had a reaction on my face (poss i had touched my face after using on clients) on just one side.
My allergy specialist just advised to avoid all nuts as he said over time if allergic to one it will end up being all
Do you think it is ok to have these done ?

When booking your appointment i'd mention this to the therapist so they can check the ingredients of their products. All my stuffs in the salon so I can't check mine but I would think the only thing that might be an issue is the nourishing lotion. So I would ask them to patch test that as well as the perm and fixing lotion 48-72 hours before. If thats all fine then I would go a head with the treatment xxx

I'm sorry, I must have read the thread completely wrong - I thought people were asking if it were the same as a lash lift?

I do still want to train with them, so I can use their products, but it's not because I think I'm going to learn some wonderous new treatment. The basic principles are the same; it is essentially a lash lift with branded products, which was essentially a lash perm with with silicone pads instead of rollers (I still have a habit of calling it a perm as that's how I trained!).

This thread is just becoming a war zone against people who are trained in LvL & those that do lash lifting. They aren't the same. Just like curling hair with straighteners & tongues aren't the same. This is meant to be an informative forum not a battlefield. If I could delete it I would. X

I don't think it can be compared to straightening and curling your hair as they are 2 different things.

when lifting the lashes or doing lvl the science is the same. You apply silicon shields in both procedures. You are then breaking down the disulphide bonds in the hair with your perm lotion (or lvl equivalent) then once the bonds are broken down you are resetting them with your fixing lotion (or lvl equivalent). Then lashes are then tinted.

The only difference is lvl is a branded lash lift. If we took random lvl before and after pics and random lash lift and tint before and after pics do you really think you'd be able to tell which is which.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for buying in to a brand which is why I trained in HD Brows but HD Brows use very specific measurements and steps which makes it different to a normal tint and shape. But even then when stripped down to the basics HD Brows are a branded tint and shape to pretend otherwise is foolish xxx

It's really not, LaurenSparkles - a lash lift is what lvl is.

A lash perm uses rods and a lash lift uses silicone pads but there are only so many ways to break down and rebuild the structure.

Gelish is a gel manicure, but so is artistic colour gloss. They're both gel manicures but different brands. Neither is more right than the other.

Agreed, however this topic is a place for posting pics & LvL therapists to compare notes but the past however many pages non LvL trained therapists are just coming on here giving it a bashing. We chose to train in LvL for various reasons we know what we know through training. Why people can't just appreciate that il never know. I now no longer want to share pictures or advice as a non trained therapist will just jump on your back. Shame.

I think There is an lvl thread where people are sharing pics but if you look at the first post on this thread it was asking peoples opinions on lvl as the op was thinking of training xxx
