Hi everyone. HAPPY NEW YEAR!:) I know i'm a day early but i'm very busy tomorrow (NOT doing nails unfortunately!)

Antway what i wanted to know is when the nails are growing out and your natural nail grows a bit underneath, it sometimes comes 'loose' or 'unglued' from the tip and dirt collects in it. (If you know what i mean?) How do you deal with it? Many thanks in advance for any replies.

If you mean how do you keep them clean, we give them a good scrub daily with a nail brush hth

I think what you are meaning is curling, where the end of the natural nail comes away from the acrylic? Only way to cure this is by ensuring you (or your nails tech) caps the free edge of the natural nail and doesn't file it off and also you should them should keep your nails out of water and not soak them for prolonged periods. Always wear rubber gloves when washing dishes, washing down counter tops etc, and not having your hands sitting in the water, when having a bath.

Keeping up with your 2-3 week maintenace appointments are aways a sure way of keeping this from happening too. If you leave it too long, this will eventually happen.

If your free edges are always 'clamped' at the sides, then curling will not be a problem no matter how long you keep your hands in water. Nor is it necessary or even practical to 'cap' the free edges of the natural nail.

The process is described very well here on the site in the tutorial/articles section and the title is 'curlingonysuckis.' I think if you read it, you will be enlightened!! :green:

Geeg, I can not find the tutorial 'curlingonysuckis. Can you help me out?
