A friend of mine has a barber shop and has spoken to me about turning the upstairs into a male grooming salon :green:
I can do the manicures/pedicures/facials etc but I need to learn to wet shave and do other blokey treatments:rolleyes:

Anyone know where I can learn such skills?:rolleyes:

For male waxing have a chat with Axiom

Male Waxing Training

I trained with him when he first started training and he was excellent and the qualification opened up a whole new tranche of business for me. Fairly lucrative too.

I can't advise you re wet shaves as I don't do them, but you may find some info if you do a search as I'm sure someone else asked about this recently.

Best of luck

There is absolutely no doubt that male grooming is now big business and we can see that from the rapid rise in male intimate waxing.

I wish there were more services offered specifically for males and can see it in my minds eye where a guy can go to a salon...sit in a big old fashioned barbers chair and have a wet shave, hot towels and all....maybe a head or full body massage, nostril waxing, maybe some eyebrow and ear plucking etc etc in a boutique version of the old fashioned colonial barber shops you would find in an expensive hotel....

Maybe a shoe shine whilst reading a paper or bikers mags while footy plays on the wide screen above and the aroma of a hot coffee disappears up your freshly waxed nostrils.....Bliss :hug:

OMG sounds a bit like a beer advert

I would imagine London would be your best bet as you are in Stevo.Do a general net search im sure you will find something.I have a feeling some of the major hairdressing companies do courses on traditional wet shave in London.

You must do mens waxing as there's a lot of call for it and it's very lucrative. I have my own accredited courses in mens waxing so PM if you'd like details of my courses or advice.

I have a waxing only biz and almost all of my clients are men and they travel for hours to get to me. Men are happy to travel and pay for an excellent wax and once you get them as clients, they'll stay with you.

Mens grooming salons as a stand alone business have a history of being very short lived so I think it will be great for you that you'll be above a barber shop.

I'm not sure but I think that WAHL the clipper people run courses for shaving etc. Good luck. xxx

I would 2nd Axiom, he is one of the nicest guy's you will ever meet and what he doesn't know about Male Grooming and Waxing isn't worth knowing.

He is regularly featured as the expert waxing contributor in the main professional beauty publications, such as Guild News and Professional Beauty.

Angie, for your mani's and pedi's you really can't beat Creative for training so give Sweet Squared a call.

Spray Tanning is popular with the guys so give Famous Dave a call.

For facials, you look at various mens skincare ranges and see if they give free training.

Andy and I are at Excel in March some come and have a chat and we'll help you all we can. If you can't make it, just give either one of us a call. I specialise in waxing and Andy does all mens treatments so he'll guide you in the right direction.
