Ok, so this is my announcement that I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and for all of you who might like to know and may find this funny..... he / she was conceived at the EVENT! Ha ha! (No, I'm not going to call it Premier Inn!)

Cos I had quite a flat stomach before, I seem to have ballooned out very quickly and am already in maternity wear.

Those of you that have been pregnant whilst working in the Salon, I'm wondering what you wore that was a) comfortable and b) looked professional???

My girls have beautiful Decleor uniforms, but for me they are so high waisted and out of proportion with my figure at the moment that they are a no go area.

It feels awful going to my wardrobe every morning with nothing to wear (ok I have a few things), and have to say it makes me feel a little depressed! (suffering from my usual bad skin as well) It doesn't really give the image of a beauty therapist.

I've got the usual plain white t-shirts, but want to look a bit more glamorous!

Thanks Geeks xx

congratulations LJ!!!!

I wasn't very impressed when I saw the price of the florence roby maternity uniforms considering it won't need to be worn for that long so in the end I continued to wear my normal salon trousers which no longer do up  and bought some long black sleeveless maternity tops from topshop and wear a black chunky cardigan with it ifs a bit chilly.

To be totally honest it doesn't look as professional as a uniform but I just couldn't justify buying a new tunic which would probably would have needed replacing at least twice during my pregnancy. It still looks smart but I do prefer the look of a uniform.

Hi lucy,
I never worked in a salon when i was pregnant but there are some lovely maternity clothes out there nowa days.
I think the best sort of trousers are the ones that fit round your hips like normal trousers but then have a stretchy band all the way round the top to go round your bump (no one can see the stretchy bit).
Also tunic tops from 'jane norman' are stretchy and look great when preggers and 'new look' have some lovely stretchy strappy vest tops for £3 in all different colours and they also look great round your bump i found, I still wear these now.
You should have a look around, New look have a fantastic range of maternity wear, smart, casual, going out etc etc. Mothercare range is a little out of date i thought.
I never really wore maternity clothes and just found some normal stuff in a great stretchy material.
I didnt like to wear tracksuits like a lot of women. I think it looks like your letting yourself go a bit unless your just round your house but thats just my opinion.
Hope this has helped you a little bit.
xxx
