Mentor Required

Hi All,
I am a newly qualified Nail Technician. I recently passed my VTCT Level 2, but do not work in the industry. I work in Local Government however with all the cut backs, redundancies and general lack of enthusiam, I am wanting to break into this industry, and make my mark. I want to be the best !!!!

Like all new Technicians I am finding the whole process of creating a nail really hard. White acrylic tips are increadibly difficult, but I am improving each day. I would really like someone who lives in this area to mentor me and come along side. So is there anyone out there who would be prepared to mentor me, spend time helping and guiding me and give me the correct advice that I need, please get in touch. For that I would be increadibly grateful.

I hope there is some kind soul out there that would be prepare to take me on board. If you need any more information about me, let me know !!!!

i live "across the water" just outside of Lytham. I have mentored a few people, 2 who now work for me! If I can help in any way just shout!

This is a great idea, Lady R - how kind of you to offer. Wish I had somebody around me that would do the same, don't get me wrong I have and still do pay for one to one's but sometimes you can't take it all in in a day and working alone, I don't have anyone to bounce ideas and problems off.

I would gladly "swap" help/treatments with some close to me who could help me with my enhancement problems.

absolutely love this idea ..
im about to train in lash extensions, facials and waxing (not too much pressure then,lol) would love to have a mentor and would be happy to do a treatment or pay an agreed fee - would be great if someone could just sit and observe few of my 'practice' sets of extensions and facials, and intervene where needed or just give feedback at the end
have only just perfected my nail treatments and it took me a good while to feel confident enough to start putting myself out there and charging full price - i think coming from a non beauty background, i was always doubting myself ..
i wonder if we could start a 'mentor' group or perhaps make a sticky
i'll start - im in north west essex, cambridge borders - if anyone specialises in the above treatments id deffinately be interested in paying for your knowledge and time

Oh my god, I'd love this too!

I'm in Liverpool if there are any kind people who would be willing to give an hour or so of their time. I'll also be willing to donate any help I can to others if need be.

Me too!!!! I can do a host of beauty treatments, facials, waxing, Microdermabrasion, Electrical Facials, massage, eyelash extension, tinting, perming, shellac. But .... I struggle with nail extensions + art (dont think Im creative enough):irked: so anyone out there want to swap some time, please, please, please get in touch.

This is a fab idea! I would greatly appreciate it if someone could spend an hour or so with me every now and again. Being a relative newbee an a 1 (wo)man band I too don't have anyone to bounce ideas or problems off and what I think is right to for a problem may not always be!

I'm in the Redditch, Worcester area and use CND l&p, brisa and shellac if anyone is close by

I only got round to trying them a couple of days ago (on myself) I think they are fab and have already had a some positive comments!

I do l&p, manicures and shellac at the mo and just qualified in spray tanning but still saving up for my kit, so frustrating! I'm still more than willing to be a guinea pig for your EE if you want.

kirsty, will let you know when have done my ee training .. unfortunately had to cancel as had sciatica and could attend, was absolutely gutted! have rebooked for 6th june, so will give you a shout soon after

Hi, I've been qualified 11 months now but still just finding my feet. I just feel I'm just lacking a bit of confidence and finding it almost impossible to find a salon that are willing to take on a trainee.
I would absolutely LOVE to have a mentor. If anybody would be able to help or even let me do some work experience I would be so grateful and there would be a very big box of chocolates as a thankyou xx
