Hi, I'm interested in Nail Art, could anyone tell me how I can learn?
I live in Plymouth, so anywhere in that area would be great, thanks:rolleyes:

you can either take a course or you can teach yourself it is alot to do with imagination so just get some bits and have a play,
what sort of nail art were you looking at doing?

Hi, I do quite a bit of handpainted nail art, For basic stuff like flicks and tigerstripes I really like the flexibrushes. They keep well and are easy to use. You can get these from palmsextra.com. (nail art stripers) I started with a black and a gold glitter and I just practised, Use your imagination and look online for ideas. Now I get requests for all sorts of things, yesterday I painted balloons on each nail, I do halloween and xmas stuff,I dont consider myself artistic but I find this very easy, Im starting to take pics of the art that I do and will post some on here soon. Some people like to use a set of paints and different brushes, I couldnt get on with these or you may like to try airbrushing. Hope this helps!:)

Have a look on u tube hun, there are loads of videos on there from the real easy to competition standard...hand painted, airbrushed and 3d...also there are lots of sites if you google nail art...hth..

Thanks Guys!

Just had a look on some websites! Looks pretty cool, Think I might be able to do it myself!

Go to your local craft shop & get yourself some pots of acrylic paints - they are water soluble btw.
You'll need some basic brushes - a fine striper brush, which has long thin bristles, and fine detailer brush and a dotting tool - or even a cocktail stick.
That's just the basics.
Grab a load of old nail tips, you can either put enamels on these first and then do your nail art on top, or use the paints for the base colours and go from there.
One thing to remember - if you are using acrylic paint - allow it to dry, the seal it with a clear top coat so it won't wash off.

If you put some blu tac onto the end of a pencil, held upside down, then you can push the tip onto it so you can hold it easily whilst working.
I also use wooden bbq skewers, and have a big ball of blu tac on my desk that I push the skewer in, whilst waiting for the polish/art to dry.

My favourite 'tool' though is my old knife block - it has a sloped side and I put 10 blobs of blu tac along the sloped side, press a tip to each and then I've got loads of things on the go at once - whilst one is drying I can work on another.
