There is a good tutorial on polishing in the tutorials section. Hope this helps

What type of polish are you using? Tell us your steps in your mani and it may be easier to give a little advice. Thanks!

Hi there, although i'm a newly qualified nail tech, i've been applying polish for years now to myself. What polish are you using? I have a great tip before applying anything to the nail, either wipe with nail polish remover to remove any oils or lightly buff the free edge of the nail with the rougher side of a nail buffer. My polish stays on for days, no chips at all. I use any polish too, sometimes i think the cheaper ones are just as good, as long as the nail is prepped beforehand. Hope this helps. x

am using solutions my steps are
mini manicure
apply cuticle softner massage in
remove with cuticle remover
nail buffing cream then buff
base coat
varnish
top coat
solar oil optional
thats just a basic Im probarly doing it wrong eh feel silly but would love some help with what doing dont know what am doing wrong felt terrible yesterday when client chiped and she hadnt even left my room how embarasing why is it not going on right i apply my brush at the top flat and straight down help please

I think what you're missing is proper nail prep prior to the polish application. Try this:

shape nails
apply cuticle softener
soak and remove excess cuticle
apply CND cuticle eraser (or equivalent)
apply CND Solaroil (or equivalent)
soak a lint free pad with Scrubfresh and really clean the nailplate focusing on the nail folds and around the cuticle
apply base coat
2 coats polish
top coat
allow to dry for one minute and spray with a fast dry spray - I think the CND one is Solarspray - mine is downstairs and I can't remember!!

I hope this helps!

hello thanks for your time and replying what this step not sure what a lint pad is

thank caroline

It's a cotton square you would use instead of a cotton ball as they leave too many fuzzies behind. The lint-free squares are just that - they don't leave anything behind so you don't have to worry about your polish getting fuzzies in it. :)

i bought them where did i put them am away to look ta

The advice above should sort your problem out. What polish do you use?

Thank you all for replying last question do you all you this scrub fresh before top coat should i get it i bought some fast drying base and top coat I was reading about on a previous post thats good I use solutions but whats good polish i thought jessica sounded good shoot me down if am wrong am a newbee

thanks again

If you used Scrubfresh before your topcoat, it would remove the polish. Try your steps exactly as I described above and you should have fab results. I use CND Sticky as my base, CND polish, and CND Super Shiny as my top coat and polish seems to last forever. HTH
