Nail staining

Hi

I had a lady come see me this morning with yellow nails. She received some nail polish over Christmas; a coral colour. It remained on her nails for a couple of days and when removed her nails have turned bright yellow! I thought it may be a cheap polish with formaldehyde? Does anyone know why this has happened and how (home remedy) she can use to remove the staining?

The Five-Step Method for Removing Almost any Stain
1.
Step 1

Soak your nails in warm water with dishwashing liquid added for 10 minutes.

Scrub the surface of the nails lightly with a terry washcloth.
3.
Step 3

Scrub the surface of the nails lightly with a soft nailbrush or toothbrush.

Dip a cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide and swab the nails to lighten any remaining stains.

Buff your nails lightly with a very fine-grit emery board or nail file.

Wash your nails with a soft toothbrush and whitening toothpaste.

Step 2

Cut a lemon in half. Loosen up the pulp. Stick your fingertips into the cut lemon halves and swirl them around for about 5 minutes. The lemon juice acts like a mild bleach on your nails.

Step 3

Dilute 1 part bleach with 10 parts water and soak your nails in the solution. Gently scrub under the nails with the bleach solution to remove any remaining stains from under your nails.

I would advise the client in future to use a base coat and a good quality nail enamel in future.

A light buffing and some scrubfresh might work...or even cuticle eraser..??

I would have sold her some Nail Brite!
I would not have suggested a home remedy but a professional solution.
Always have sold this product for 20 years or more to those that need it.
