Nail Trainers

Hi i am new to this site.

i only do the manicures no extensions.

i was just wondering weather i could use the nail trainer, just to apply nail varnish. i dont have any friends or family who can offer to be a model. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS.

where exactly are you if i'm not too far away i don't mind modelling for you. Alternatively try asking others on here to model for you. Start a thread putting out a request i'm sure there will be plenty of people to help Good luck

i just thought reading about the nail trainer it would be having a hand there all the time for me.

hi, i think if your only practising applying enamel it will be hard to use the nail trainer because the way it works is that you insert a 'nail' then apply a tip. which ur not learning, u can always try filling a washing up glove with loads of rice and buying a cheap box of plain tips and sticking them on where they would be on the hand or use an orange stick and stick a tip on the end with blue tack or something? but the only thing is ull have to hold the glove or stick so ul only have one hand free! hth x

you do get big nail beds for the nail trainer as these are for practising airbrushing so you could use these ones for nail polish.there size 6 so im sure these would be fine to use.
or you could buy some cheap nail tips and stick some blue tack on a stick or straw and stick the nail tip to it and use them for practise.

I use it practice polishing and french manicures with no problem. Go ahead!

It is an expensive item to buy if you are only using it to practise one technique that you will master very quickly I would hope. Then what??

If you already have a nail trainer than that is different but I would not recommend buying one just for this.

25 years ago when there were no nail trainers my husband bought some wooden dowels and I carved out a nail bed on each end. I stuck tips to them and blended them and applied product to them and hand finished them and then painted them. worked for me.

You could do the same with some stick ons and then polish them ... it is not a difficult technique to learn and it will only cost you pennies.

I have a nail trainer and I think they are good for practising polishing techniques on you can mess about on them to your hearts content as you can just keep reusing the click in nails if your not gonna be applying enhancements to them...however it is quite expensive so I would try and get one second hand if you really feel you would like one...otherwise just make something yourself like some of the others have suggested..Im sure I read on here once that someone used a large margarine container and pushed through some wooden pegs as the fingers and stuck some tips on the ends as nails.

i've seen practice fingers on nail art websites, they were under £5.

much cheaper than a nail trainer, even if you bought a full hands worth!
