Hi everyone,

I am still fairly new to nails and would really appreciate your advice with my clients requests that I will be doing next week.

My clients have requested natural enhancements with no white powder or white tips.

Is there a tutorial on what I need to do to achieve this look? I am using CND - velocity natural tips.

How can I be sure that their nail bed, ghost shadows don't show through? Do you use more than one powder or is there one powder you can use all over the nail?

Hope you can make this a little clearer for me:rolleyes: Thank you

I would say you need to make sure you blend in your tips properly so you dont get any tell tell lines, and then I usually overlay with a pure pink sheer powder .Thats what I normally do for the natural look :) .

One of the best ways to offer you clients a choice of different natural looks is to SHOW them by making some examples on tips.

Natural looking nails is my specialty and there are many different 'natural' looks.

First thing is to apply your tips flawlessly. Use either the new natural colouration CND Performance tips (which do require a tad of free edge to adhere to) or CND Velocity natural colouration tips and blend perfectly (not difficult to do with such an easy to blend tip).

Once the tips are adhered, you have so many choices to offer. Natural powder over the tip followed by Pink or Intense Pink over the nail bed ... Clear over the tip followed by Pink or Intense Pink. Clear over the whole thing, Natural over the whole thing. Soft White powder followed by whatever: Natural, Pink, Intense pink, Clear. Etc. Try different looks over tips to show your client what is available. I mix my own free edge colour.

It's been a long time since I used L&P and I was wondering if I could create this natural look with my Brisa gel?

Sorry for hijacking the thread:hug:

Thank you so much, that really helps. I really appreciate your replies. I have also just ordered 'nailclass' can't wait for it to arrive! :)

why use tips? when I want to do a Natural I sculpt them, and do like Geeg and mix a Tip color that is going to match the color of the clients tip some need less yellow and more white, I found. But if you sculpt it you have no tip tip blends and it looks great!

Sure you can. There are lots of choices within the CND Brisa colour range as well. You can also blend your own free edge colour using the Brisa palette of gels as well.

Sculpting is great if you are proficient, but if not, then tips work just as well and last just as long and in many cases look better than sculpts on certain nail types. Sculpting is something to aspire to doing well for sure and I more often than not do sculpt, but there are many times where tipping is both easier and quicker (especially when using Performance well less tips) and gives a sleeker and more pleasing result, IMO.

Geeg,

In my case Tips are the wrong way to go unless I use L&P to glue them on with. If you look at my nails from straight on you see a wave ~ that gives me issues with proper adhesion to the nail and I always have issues with air or gaps under them. So in my case I had to get good at sculpting for my own sake lol. But I do have to say I like the acrylic glue on method as well.
