hi there does anyone here have an earlexx 3000 that they use for spray tanning? ive bought one not long ago and gad a go on my mum, and my mum did me..ive tried it twice now but just CAN NOT seem to get it write ive put it all on the best settings and still patchy.
im a single parent so cant afford a training course
i really wana get the hang ofit
any advice pleeeeaasseee!!

Hiya, but that's what the training courses are for, so you get to be trained by a professional with the opportunity of spray tanning people under full supervision - I can't imagine not having been on a proper training course! And also, I believe you won't be able to get public liability insurance if you haven't been trained by an accredited company xx

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but you cant expect to come on here asking for advice because you dont want to go on a training course. We all paid for our training, why would we want to pass that knowledge on for free??

Is the machine just for personal use?
If you were intending to spray the general public then you will need insurance.
If it's just to spray yourself and your mom then that would be ok.
Maybe you could let people know what your intentions are and someone may be able to help. :)

Hi there,

I agree with the other girls on this one, training is very important. You will need it for insurance and you dont want to go spraying peeople without insurance, just one person with a bad reaction to the solution or stained clothes or an ashma attack from the spray and you could be ruined financially. The training covers a lot more than just the technique and you can get trained for as little as £70.00. It is worth the outlay if only for peace of mind, plus you will make the money back very quickly. If you could save up to afford a machine and solution you should be able to save up for training.

I get upset when I speak to customers enquiring about a spray tan and get told that either they or someone they know had a bad spray tan, it makes it hard for the rest of us who have been trained and practised until we were good enough to charge. The sad truth of the matter is that a happy customer will tell a few friends and family how good you are, an unhappy customer will tell absolutely everyone how bad you are. So it really is better for you and your business in the long run to go about it the right way.

Okay then, I'll get off my little soap box now (lol)

If you are only tanning for personal use then just keep practising and tell your guinea pigs that you are only doing it for fun, you really shouldn't be charging for the service

Good Luck
Nikki

hi there thanks for all ur comments..

im not saying i dont want to pay for a course i do..just can not afford it at the moment with all bills and a one year old etc i dont have time to treat maself.lol

but at the mo im just practising on people who r offering to let me doit on them.but eventualy i do want to do a course.but just wonderd if any else got the hang of using the earlex 3000.

hey, its definatly a tricky one that machine i used to use it. I now use 5002 machine which seems to be alot easier. It is diffult to do if you havent been trained as easy as it looks there are certain tecqniues and directions you should use when applying a tan. I would wait till you can afford a course hun before you try agin or you will pick up bad habbits x

The Earlex 3000 was/is sold by B&Q as a fence spray unit and therefore has a larger needle than the thinner needle suitable for spray tanning.

Some years back many spray tan providers were in fact selling this unit in starter kits..till everyone clocked on that you could buy them from B&Q...it was like the gold rush all over again..sales at B&Q rocketed as theropists pored in by the coach load to snap up a bargain

After some time in circulation these machines started to pack up..they weren't designed for high volume commercial use and of course B&Q again clocked on to what the machines were being used for...Earlex(quiet rightly) responded with a no guarantee position on machines used for commercial spray tanning...and today in conjunction with Tampa bay in USA have produced the HV5008...which is suitable for spray tanning.

So back to the 3000...yes it will turn out a spray tan but unless you change the needle you will use MUCH more solution and possibly result in to much solution being applied.

IF YOU ARE PURLEY USING THIS FOR PERSONEL USE IS ONE THING BUT IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING GOING INTO SPRAY TANNING AS A PROFFESION AND TANNING THE PAYING GENERAL PUBLIC YOU MUST UNDERTAKE TRAINING AND INSURANCE...ALSO CHANGE THIS MACHINE FOR ONE THAT IS SUITABLE FOR COMMERCIAL USE.

Hoping this info is of some help to your posted question

thank you colin for that it was helpful
the only thing is i was told i couldnt return it once it had been used?

i might just see about getting a thinner needle for it. as i did find it does use quite alot of solution wich obviously isnt good.
at the moment it is for personal use and anyone who wants it with knowing the consequences but i think il just have to save up for a tanning traing course!
