Hi again guys

Have just done my own nails for the first!! not bad but not great!!

I put them on 3 days ago but the free edge of 3 of the tips have split right down the centre - hope that makes sense?

I'm not sure why as this has never happened before when i have practiced on others. Is it just me? are they really bad quality tips ( essential nail tips)? have i possibly thined the free edge to much and weakened them?

so many question sorry folks, hope you can help

Luv Kirsty xx

Vertical cracking can be caused by a few things. Which one fits??

1. Too wet a mix causing excessive shrinkage of the product?

2. Using a tip with a c curve on a flat nail plate?

3. Using tips that are not of the best quality?

4. Over thinning the tip which is not of the best quality?

5. Using primer or dehydrator directly on the tip?

There are a few to think about.

I haver a feeling its either number 3 or 4 so i think the best thing to do is try a different
make of tip!

Thanks again geeg!! xx

This happened to a client of mine once and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how it was happening...she used to have natural gel enhancements and would polish them for nights out etc....but she was using an acetone based remover (even after been told to use acetone free of course haha) which was splitting the tips if some remover found it's way to the back of the enhancement, have you been in contact with this? Otherwise the primer or dehydrater comment would also cause cracking.

One of my customers had this problem with one client and it turned out that the tips she used were too small - she chose a tip that was too small as opposed to going up one size and filing down the sides. When the gel polymerized and shrank - it cracked all 10 tips right down the middle. Hope this helps!
