Has anyone on here done a level 3 nvq in beauty?
I've been at college now for 2 yrs now and im so tired of it.They are so stricted and treat you like you are 16!! (im 24!)
But i didnt want to leave level 3 out as i just want to get it all out the way and never go back lol

I was just wondering how you guys found level 3?

I have a little boy and i'm there til 9pm on one of the days (three days in total). I only got my time table last week.SOOOOO un- organised!!!

How did you find your course. How was the work and you guys with kids, did you find it too stressful? O god i am dreading it!!!

xxxx

It is difficult juggling everything but taking half or 3/4 of a course is like taking half a degree ... it is nothing and leaves you incomplete.

If you hate it all are you sure you are training for the right job?

I've always loved and soaked up every bit of knowledge I could ... still do in fact and I have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Somehow I made room for my passion in life but I never would have said I hated it.

I completed my level 3 this June and I loved it! (I won student of the year too!!)

To be honest I found I actually enjoyed it more, I think because you have all the basic knowledge it then is easier to understand why you are doing what you are in a treatment. If that makes sense!

It was tiring, I have 3 children, a husband, a business and college was 1 hour away, but it was worth it. And don't forget we are all here to help you when things get tough.

I absolutley LOVE beauty and find it really interesting. I love it when i am in the commercial salon its fab! Maybe ive chosen the wrong college i think.Ive been there for 2 yrs and it seems like they are so un-organised and they tell you so many lies like when i did my level 2 i was told if you pass your assessments quickly then you can leave.I worked my arse off to achieve this and did it before anyone else in 3 classes.I was so happy to think that was it i could leave, only for them to tell me no you cant you can go and wash towels ha ha.Sure i will get through it though ,im really looking forward to learning all the new treatments. Just wondered how you ladies found it xxx

Student of the yr!!!! Well done hun u must have been chuffed with that!
Yeh that does make sense and i suppose its easier in a way cos we have already done facials and know the routine we are just adding bits on.

Well any time i am feeling stressed i will slap myself around the head for moaning about it. If you managed it with 3 children,a husband and a business AND your college was an hour away, i have NOTHING to moan about!!!!
Thanks hun and well done!! xxx

Hi hun,

I haven't been to college to study beauty but I have been to college to study an Access to University course. They too were/seemed really unorganised as they gave me my timetable about a week before I was due to start.

I had to organise childcare as it was during the day, but my argument was, how am I supposed to organise childcare and manage myself effectively if I don't know what I'm doing, and because it was too late I had to beg a member of my family to look after my little girl for some sessions I had to attend that the nursery was booked up in .

It worked itself out in the end, I got my Access pass (didn't do anything with it). It is hard but if you are really passionate about what you are studying for, it's so worth it, and as Geeg said, if you only do half, you're not going to be properly qualified and what you have studied for will have been a waste of time.

Good luck with it all and try to enjoy it as much as you can

I start my level 3 in just over a week too and I really can't wait, I am 37 and they don't treat us like kids, it's great.

Hey snap! I won student of the year too for my level 2:lol:

Hey, first of all well done to you for going for Level 3 beauty. Its very hard work but worth it.

Nothing that you really want comes easy, so stick with it.

I had to stay at college until 9pm one night too. During the 45 minute break I used to rush through the traffic to pick my son up, grabbed something to eat and go back to college. It wasnt easy but things worked out.

Prepare yourself mentally and physically, no one will do it for you!

I'm starting Level 3 in a fortnights time. I have a job in Beauty now and I've really got into that so going back to college again for another 9 months is going to be hard , even though i'm looking forward to learning new things and becoming fully qualified. Will still be working every Sat to keep experinece up. It's gr8 working in the Beauty Industry. Best thing i've ever done qualifying. :Grope:

Im in Scotland and I start My HND course on tuesday...not sure what the equivalent is...but its scary stuff

Hi ya, Im starting Level 3 next monday. I also am in the scary tutor's group (at my college), and yes they are strict but to be honest I'd rather they were than the farce that would carry on if they weren't.

I have a late night on thursday, but we dont start till lunch time on that day.

I dont have any children, but I do have a dog so I went and got myself a moped so I can nip home to him when I do have a break if no-one is home.

I know its going to hard work, but it will all be worth it in the end.

Good luck to all of you starting your level 3. I promise that once you have gained that qualification you will be so proud of yourselves and all the work will have been worth it
