How do you mobile geeks deal with patch testing when mobile.
I will soon be offering tinting and perming and know its essential to patch test.
My problem is I am mobile so it wont pay me to visit them twice, I did read that someone sent a little parcel in the post with a cotton bud and small pot with tint in it, is this a good idea and would it be worth it (i suppose so considering the petrol and travelling costs).
Whats your thoughts geeks?
x

I have heard about therapists who post tint to clients and shoot me down if you like but I think it's discusting.
How do they know these clients will actaully carry out this test?
You could always ask them to come to you but then you risk losing custom.
So I would say either put your prices up so that you are not losing and go to do the patch test yourself, or just dont offer it as a treatment x

Its a difficult one Michelle and not so easy to get right.
Theoretically a patch test has to be done 24hrs in advance so either means you have to travel and do it yourself...or if you are posting a trial-er out send it recorded delivery so that you can prove you sent it to the customer in advance of the treatment.

Either way it is essential to check with your insurers on this issue...after all there the ones covering you in the event things go wrong and it is them that may or may not cover you in the event of a claim if you have or haven't complied with there own specific patch testing requirements.

Best to speak to them...they may have acceptable means to undertake this function
Good luck

I'm mobile, and always insist on a patch test. I know the first time it seems like it's not worth the trouble visiting twice, but the repeat business should make up for that in no time. I also 'charge' £5 to go out and do initial consultation / patch tests, with the fiver being redeemable against the treatment. It might be worth adding, that I have a minimum spend level set for certain distances, that way I don't get people asking me to drive 20 miles for a £9 treatment?
I also patch test for anything and everything on the first visit so the situation doesn't crop up again.
Hope this helps
