I recently bought a lovely stainless steel round pedicure bowl. I decided against a footspa and though something natural that I can put minerals and petals into, would be better.

I have been looking for some natural smooth small to medium size pebbles to rest in the bottom for client to rest their feet onto but can't find any.

So I'd like your views and opinions please geeks....

a. is it ok to use these in a pedicure.. what about cross contamination? how would I clean them?

b. Any idea on where I can get some?

c. Any other idea or should I just forget them altogether?

you could either use the flat polished ones. I've seen them in shops like au naturel, you sometimes use them to put your candles on.

or you could get glass beads, like the ones you use in water with floating candles.

wash them in anti bacterial washing up liquid.
sterilise them with sterlisier liquid.

Ooooh.. never thought of the glass ones but will go to au natural and have a look. Thanks

How about the stones that are used in Hot Stone massage. The basalt stones are volcanic & hold the heat really well, lovely & smoothly polished and come in loads of different sizes.

I wash mine in anti-bac washing liquid then sterilize with spray.

Karaxxx

Most shops that have a good selection of candles have the smooth stones near the candles,
Morrison's have a range of these hth

Do you mind letting me know where you got the stainless steel bowl from. Im after a new pedicure bowl and I love the idea of using the balsalt stones. I would also be interested where you sit your clients for a pedicure. Do you have a special pedi chair or does your couch convert?

you can get the bowl at ikea.

au naturale has closed down:irked:

but wilkinsons sell nice pebbles and so do some garden centres.

I got it from Ikea... it's lovely. I have got a little three legged telescopic camping stool from Tesco.. it wasn't even a fiver!! Folds up really small too for carrying about.

Thanks everyone.. some great ideas there. Going to go on the hunt tomorrow now :)

My clients love the feel of the glass beads

Silly question but can you fit both feet in at once in this bowl?

Yes, easily. It's huge!! laughing to myself because I'm trying to remember if I checked this out in Ikea at the time. Wouldn't have bought it as I was looking for something big at the time, for both feet :)
