Thinking of swopping from clean & easy to perron rigot waxes. I got a small amount of the basics in and done my first leg wax with the ocean strip wax yesterday.

Thankfully I done the leg wax on one of the staff, because her legs had a rash last night. She doesn't normally get this with the clean & easy roller system and I know she didn't do anything different in terms of aftercare. The rash had calmed down by the morning and her skin looked fine immediately after the waxing.

I was so excited about using the new waxes, but this has got me worried that it'll happen to a client. I used the PR blue pre-wax lotion, Jasmine oil, Ocean wax then Jasmine oil, then the PR post soothing gel.

xx

It is very unlikely that she had a reaction to the Cristal Ocean as it is hypoallergenic and is designed for sensitive skin.
Are you sure it wasn't just the plucked chicken look that she experienced?
Have you waxed her before and seen what she normally looks like after a wax?
I wouldnt let it put you off using other PR waxes

Thanks for your reply Klassy Klaws. I get the plucked chicken look myself from waxing, so I know what you mean, but the girl says she doesn't normally get this. She's not a drama queen either like some of the other staff!

Not gonna let in put me off the wax cos I really like it, I'll keep trying and hope it was a one-off.

Thanks xx

Had she left it longer than usual before her waxing as then the skin can react like it is being waxed for the first time?

Could it have been the pre/after wax or jasmine oil rather than the wax?

I dont use PR but it seems as though you did put a lot of different lotions on the skin in such a short space of time,

You're using too much product and she may have an allergy to anyone of them, or simply had a reaction because you put so much stuff on.

*A tiny amount of cleanser
*A tiny amount of oil if her legs are dry.....the oil is better used on sensitive areas
*Apply the wax very warm and so thinly that you can barely see it
*If there's any stickiness, then apply a small amount of oil after just to clean up
*I would only use soothing gel on sensitive areas

I have a feeling that you was putting too much wax on which caused the rash. If this happens, then the strip gets loaded and tugs at the skin as you remove. xxx

Thanks for you advice Kim, can you just clarify a few things for me -

You're using too much product and she may have an allergy to anyone of them, or simply had a reaction because you put so much stuff on.

*A tiny amount of cleanser
*A tiny amount of oil if her legs are dry.....the oil is better used on sensitive areas do you mean if the legs weren't dry or senstive, you wouldn't apply the oil?
*Apply the wax very warm and so thinly that you can barely see it
*If there's any stickiness, then apply a small amount of oil after just to clean up so you wouldn't apply the oil afterwards, unless they were sticky?
*I would only use soothing gel on sensitive areas so what should I apply after waxing if their not sensitve?

I have a feeling that you was putting too much wax on which caused the rash. If this happens, then the strip gets loaded and tugs at the skin as you remove. xxx

Thanks for your help with this, I really like the wax, so I'm gonna persist and get it right!
