A lady whose nails I did the week before Christmas has telephoned to book for her rebalance ("mainly because 2 have broken" .

When I see her, any idea how much extra I should charge her as clearly a lot more product is going to be used.

It is a hard one but personally I would just charge her a price of a complete new set.
They are going to be so far up the nail plate it is going to be like starting from scratch.

7.5 WEEKS!!!!:eek::eek: WOW!!

surely there can't be much product left on the nail after this long!?

Without seeing the nails I would say this sounds like it could be worth charging almost the same as for a new set.

I won't do a rebalance for any less than full price after 4-5 weeks unless the nails are VERY slow growing

hth (i'm still reeling after the 7.5 weeks bit )

I'd charge for a new NNO, in this amount of time they should have grow enough for you to be able to do this xx

7.5 weeks is great going, I had someone last month go 6 weeks and by the time I'd taken the length down her natural nail was long enough to just overlay, was just thick in zone 1 as it had started life out in zone 2 !!

I would love to see a picture of what they look like after this amount of time.

I would go for a full set charge.

:hug:Depending on how long her natural nails are underneath, I would charge for a totally new set or a NNO!
hth's xxx:hug:

Thanks, yes, they are certainly going to be very grown out lol! I had to do a double take when I heard her message, and go and check my diary lol

In fact it almost makes you think she deserves a reward for looking after them so well lol!

No seriously, I think I will have to charge new set price, you're right. Thanks again.

Oey I will try and remember to take a piccie when she comes in!

Thing is....I charge £25 for a NNO....so charging for a new NNO is only going to be £25....now i can do a new NNO is an hour....a rebalance on a NNO is 1.5-2 hours (depending on growth and work to be done)....so why charge the same as a hours work when it could well take double that time...???

Charge for a full set.

This is a tough one but you need to think about the time involved when pricing because she has actually missed a few rebalance appointments.

How about charge for removal and new set? That would seem fair.

I agree, she may well need a soak off if they have been on that long, if they are all still looking good then well done to both of you!!

This makes complete buisness sense :!: Angie where's your rebal thread, the one i bump up and rep you for every time this comes up ?

I have one client who always pushes it to the max ... this time it was EIGHT weeks! Actually they don´t take much longer than normal as the product has grown forward so much. But what peeves me is this client is SOOOO picky when I work - this isn´t right, this nail´s a bit wonky blah blah blah. But she´s fine to let them grow out so much that they look totally unbalanced and the French is totally filed away. She really fries my noodle!

We have a policy where we can charge a fee if people go over 3 weeks if we feel extra work has been needed ... and she AWLAYS gets charged this!

My rebalance price goes up after 3 weeks to not much less than a full set cost, and all repairs/replacements have to be paid for (whereas I include 1 repl/repair with a rebal up to 3 weeks), that way it deters people from leaving it so long, as it works out more expensive than a full set in most cases.

Those enhancements of hers must be hanging off her fingertips!! Personally I would try and steer her in the soak off/full set direction. If she insists on a rebalance and they are in a fit state to do that, I would explain to her that you will be practically doing a natural nail overlay and that you will have to charge her for that, but that because this will take longer than an NNO, you will have to charge her a further amount for the extra time.

hi i had ones like this which was 8 wks. they were half way up her nail and stained brown frm smoke an tan - lovely!! but i managed to rebalance them and i think i only charged her £30 but seeing this i think i should ve chsrged more! my clients are starting to leve it longer and longer between fills so after 3 wks i was gonna start charging a fiver for each extra wk.

Maybe you should charge for time rather than weeks before rebalance? I am guessing this is just a one off and it will be a bit difficult as the nails will be so unbalanced....you'll be holding on to that nail whilst filing for fear of tipping it over the edge!

Other than that, I'd likely charge full set price.

am i being odd here?
but me personally it wouldnt take me any longer to do a 7.5 week old set to doing one that was two weeks old,
and i would charge the same personally
jmho

Well done to you... 6 weeks is great for your quality of work... I have those pain the butt clients too.... one of them pushes 5 - 6 weeks and then turns up late and says she needs to be out in a hour! yeah sure.... I really don;t think these clients are worth keeping unless you have a policy that says they will get charge a fee on top as more product is used.. ( I should take my own advise!).. easier said here then when they are breathing down you neck in the chair...
Let us know how you got on with her.
