Morning everyone,

When I purchased all of my fusion kit I noticed it did not have a primer, I'm also sure I read somewhere that it was a primerless system. I have been getting on well with the system but my lift prone client (hands constantly in water!) is still experiencing a slight problem.
On the back of the monomer it does say that a primer can be used but I just wondered which this should be as there doesn't seem to be one for the fusion range?

Thank you, x x

I cannot comment on fusuions primerless system but i use hd by ezflow and that is a primerless system, and for my self i use a primer as i am prone to lifting and on some elderly clients.
I have known also that creatives retention is a primerless system and creative nail technicians have discussed on here using primer (an acid free primer) for lifting prone clients...hopefully a lovely creative nail techncian will clarify.
Give your supplier a ring and just ask...but i cannot see why not.

Yes CND's Acid Free primer is a prep booster and can be used with Retention+ for those really lift prone clients...also Nailfresh is another prep booster.

I would also advise that you contact your supplier to check what primer would be the best one to use with your system Louiser. hth

THe use of primer depends on the system ..... check with your supplier
My current system uses no primer and no (NONE) buffing of the natural nails at all ...... i'm amazed ... it actually sticks very well:)

what systems's that then Carl?

Thank you for your relpys everyone. I have been in touch with my suppliers who say they were not aware fusion had a primer! Even though on the monomer it says to use one! I'm sure someone said that as it is made by the same people as star nails you are to use their primer. Has anyone tried this?

Thank you again everyone, x x

Hi,

Yes it is made by united beauty who also make star nails! Fusion is not a primerless liquid so you do need to use a primer, they recommend you use a star nails primer pen.

Or if you want to use a primerless liquid, you can use fusion plus which is faster and clearer than fusion and actually I found its better for lifting prone clients! :)

I may be wrong, but i'd imagine Star Nails would make United Beauty products .... (if anyone was making anything). United do not make Star Nails thats for sure.

Many companies repackage Star Nails products as their own.

i think united beauty are the u.k distributor for star nails.

I have tried the fusion this week, I used the primer pen from star nails and have been very impressed with the product., the white is very easy to work with and you have plenty of time to perfect the smile line., however, I did get slight lifting at the cuticle on one nail, but that is a nail I damaged long ago and its very thin., so I guess its unfair of me single that one out.
Tried the fusion plus today, the primerles one, and the white is a little whiter than the fusion, it's pretty fast cure, but you can really feel it sticking to the nail plate.

Also tried their reflective glossing buffers,,,,,,wow, high gloss shine in seconds, they have an offer on the moment, but 2 get 1 free.

Would be very interested in trying the system Carl uses, Illume,,,,if you reading Carl, is it purely for Aussies or do they dispatch further afield? If its good enough for Carl it sure as heck will be more than good enough for me!!

Fusion are doing an offer in September's scratch, the first 500 salons to respond get a free sample kit.

Illume will be launching in the UK soon enough, oddly enough, their liquid is called Fusion, but defintaely not the same. Can't wait for you to see the price of the files, Hawley actually manufacture files (you may already be using one of them without knowing) .... now where's that wink icon

Will keep a look out for that, what would you say is the best system in your experience that you have worked with,? or, to broaden the field, the top three!!!

It's an Australian system called "Illume", i'm amazed !!!!
Hawley must have improved alot since "black label"..bought that once as the price amazed me and being a australian product..wasn't impressed at all with the chunks in the powder, not to mention comparing it to my usual product..they must have been hard at work day and night in the lab since then to produce illume:rolleyes:

Illume is a completely different product range, different technology, different science .... the only way to find out is to buy a sample kit. Products and people progress... Give it a go.
It's been the most successful new product at the nails shows for a few years in a row now (both here and overseas), imagine not having to buff the nail at all?
Hawley's will and always will be the best and cheapest supplier of nail files (they are the only manufacturer here in AUS). If you find better (and are willing to order the quantities, they will custom make any file to order), size, shape, grit. For eg: glossing buffer Kayak Shape Hawleys $1.95 (slightly bigger than normal shape), as opposed to Creative glossing buffer $6.50, I know for a fact it's the same paper, same glue, same durability.
Of course it's always up to you what you want to spend on exactly the same product, if you have money to throw away, by all means buy something 3 times the price. I'd love to have money to burn..

Since seeing your vids I have been waiting for Illume to come to UK for me to try. And also after your report the other day it has got me all fired up to try it again! you keep teasing us aye! any way sounds like one to try! x

I have always used hawley products on my table "that dont matter" eg. sanitiser (cool blue is a ridiculous price) files and always use thier tips on clients who dont respect thier nails. I will spend money to my detriment on products that have proven thier worth to me..i love the freedom i have with creatives custom blending powders..if illume had the range and quality i would defo give it ago..as i would like to support our aussie product..i have changed product a few times only to be disappointed:irked: Hairmarts display of Hawley products is equal to Creative and do love to promote them..i would never say never, esp. if they do a custom blend kit???

I mostly use Hawley files and love them, great value for money. Still yet to try their glossing ones though.
I love that you can buy their sanitiser and everything in bulk.
I recently tried the UV sealer & didn't like it though.
