Problems with Balance colour gels

i ve been working with NSI balance gels and find that i have no problems sculpting and making the enhancements last but when it comes to doing an overlay with the colour gels they crack at the free edge after a couple of days ( also do them on toes and they last 6 weeks most of the time) i have tried making sure they are capped properly, even added a small extention with sculpture gel sometimes to make sure they can be capped properly but they still only last a week . I was thinking of trying another gel but don t really want to give up any advice will be greatly appreciated.

make sure you apply a bonding layer of clear gel first, then 2 coats of colour. all layers to be cured for 2 min. Once you have finished, buff the free edge with 3 sided buffer and nurture oil to seal the edge. it worked for me.:hug:

Thanks for your advise x i have been applying a layer of balance builder clear then 1 or 2 coats of colour depending on the colour (some are quite sheer) i haven t buffed the edge because i didnt want to weaken the capped edge but will try this on a friend later today thanks :hug: How long do you find they last before a rebalance?

I don't know about this gel, but gel enhancements w/colour are lasting our customers around 3 weeks between fills.
Today we had customers in that had gone 4 and 5 weeks, but had massive re growth.

Maybe you are applying them too thin? are you building a c curve? and are you making sure that the nails are clean under the free edge?

Hi thanks for your reply i ve have 3 clients last 3 weeks following all the rules wearing gloves etc... but most up to 2 weeks i know Gel doesn t suit everyone, but think maybe your right about applying it too thin the ones that have lasted longer have been extended a little with sculptured gel to make longer so i think i must be applying them a bit thicker on these Thanks will keep experimenting x:hug:
