Hi peeps:hug:

Have done quite a few sets of Minx on toes now and I am still getting the recurring prob of slight puckering on the free edge/lifting at corners and just wondering if anyone had any magic brainwaves for me?

Thanks

Niki:rolleyes:

This sounds like a) you are trying to file before Minx has cooled down or b) the nail plate hasn't been prepped properly. I was looking at my toes today and marvelling the fact that they are still perefct.

If you try toi file Minx off before they have cooled you will mess up your file and cause puckering. If you still have oils on the natural nail plate, that will cause lifting.

The only other thing is, they may not have been heated enough before application. The Minx literally 'curls' when it's ready to be applied. HTH's!!!

Thanks Sam:hug:

I think the penny just dropped on why the corners are lifting because it only seems to be left hand corner & that is where I am holding it with tweezers because I was sure thats how kelly held hers to do yours when I did my mani/pedi training and she put your gold ones on (they looked like a dream:green:)?
I am waiting a fews mins to let them cool down, but do you think if I had my lamp on to hot that could also make a diff & should poss turn heat down?

Niki xx

Is it ok to use Nail Fresh to prep the nail or is Scrub Fresh a better option?

Either would be fine... I use Scrubfresh mainly but you could always use both if the client were particularly 'oily'

well its the heat that really makes them work so I dont think that would be it. Do all 10 nails before going back to file the first.. that may help :)

I keep ruining my big and little toes on my shoes, It is driving me mad..
It didn't happen with the first set I did on myself, But It was winter so I probably wore socks and boots...so they were more protected,
I do have weird sticky up toes though lol...
The clear layer puckers up, then the pattern rubs off

I have been thinking and thinking how I can work around it,
All the others inbetween stay perfect, its just where my toes stick up a bit lol, (freaky feet :green:)

I am coming to the minx mentoring day hopefully though, so I might find out if it is me that is just doing something wrong x

Did you used to be a dancer at all?? Ballerina feet are so attractive - not! I have a lovely bunion too thanks to dance and ill fitting shoes in my teens - I'm still only 29yrs and have feet like my nan hehe

I too am having problems with creasing at the free edge, but only on my fingers, my toes are fine. My finger nails are quite curvy, I'm wondering if this is why? On the demo video, the minx doesn't look like it's being stretched much, I've tried it both ways on my nails, first I stretched it and it creased straight away, then I didn't stretch so much and it looked fab, but then started creasing about an hour later. What am I doing wrong??
I did a tester one on a friend and it looked amazing-she has quite flat nails tho. I'm trying my best to get them right on myself as I'm trying to promote them to clients, and I'm not confident enough to start doing the public until I've mastered it on myself! I'm dreading the day someone with nails like mine comes to the salon!!!
Thanks geeks:hug:
