I'm desperate to have a go at sculpting but everytime I try put on a form it never sits flush under the free edge. I make sure its fits snug at the corner of the smile lines. I was given some by a rep but cant seem to get it right. Please help

Try bending the form around a pen or pencil or the handle of your brush before you put it on. This can help new ones to get the form into a nice round shape before pushing it under the free edge. Once underneath make sure your two thumbs hold the shape by 'pooching it up' under the surface of the free edge while you then (once it is flush with the underside of the nail) stick it to the sides of the finger with the pressure from the sides of your thumbs. (do you like that term ... pooching it up??)

Us oldies don't have to do this. We tend to bend the form into shape with our thumbs first by pressing down on the sides of the form and 'pooching it up' in the middle and then apply it and press it into place all in one easy movement! One day you will do it too. HTH

PS have you ever thought of taking a class? It is so much easier with an expert to guide you. You geeks set me a real task sometimes to explain in words a difficult proceedure in a way that you can remotely understand it!!! I hope you can.

hold the form by the sides and rock the form between your hands to give it a curve lengthways.
place the form under the free edge making sure that it sits flush underneath. you can help it into position with the handle of your brush.
fix the forms at the side of the finger.
close the tip of the form together.
close the form at the knuckle.

I like Pooching it up:)

Practise practise practise, you will get it

never heard it called " pooching it up"

I love the term 'pooching it up', right I'm determined to give it a go when i get chance tomorrow. I'm so looking forward to getting your book, should be here next week. (for my birthday!) And my conversion course for CND. Thanks

no, fair play, i like it !:)

Everyone will be 'pooching it up' now . the newest professional term!!

You can always get your CND trainer to show you quickly how to apply a form during that class. Please do ask her and tell her not to forget to 'pooch it up' !

I always 'pooch it up' (love that):)

I did a class and my educator told me to imagine that the top surface of the form was sticky and I had to attach to the underside of the nail. I thought she was mad but I tried it and it works for me:lol:

The biggest tip for me when I was being taught - and am still brand new at it - is to make sure the form is in line with the nail wall!!!! Now I find it a lot easier to fit them - and thats after I have "pooched it up"!!!!!!
