I'm very pleased at the moment with the longevity of my clients nails. No lifting issues and only the odd breakage where the client admits to the damage herself.

All except one.

I really don't know what the woman is doing inbetween appointments and I've tried to help with aftercare advice but nothing I say seems to work, her nails are always trashed when she comes back :irked:

At the moment I use nsi attraction but will shortly be changing over to cnd. Which monomer do you think I should try for this client? Retention should be good to help prevent the lifting issues, but would Radical be better from a strength point of view? Yesterday I had to soak off 4 of her nails due to serious physical damage and 3 had serious lifting. I am confident of my prep and application as no other clients have issues at all and come back with near perfect nails every time :!:

Cheers,
Hazel

Radical is recommended for those heavy handed clients, though I would have to say that you should make sure that you are charging correctly for soak off and breakages. I usually charge £35 for a p/w set, so I charge a full £3.5 per nail which has to be completely replaced. I would normally include a soak off free of charge for clients having their nails re-done, but as I only rarely need to do a full soak off and re-application, I would be inclined to charge additional for each nail that you are having to soak off. I would normally charge £10 for a soak off and buff, so you should consider charging say £1 per nail for the extra time factor for all the soaking off that you appear to be doing with this client. Also remover costs so you need to recover your costs, especially as she is a persistent offender. Maybe if she knows it will cost her, she may start to treat her nails with a bit more respect. I know I should charge extra but it is so hard because she has been with me since I started training. I always assumed in the beginning that it was my fault in some way. It's only recently that I have become really confident that it is the client and not me

The problem is that she's taking it for granted:irked: I had a lovely client who had me in stitches with the stories of her on going search for the perfect man (don't ask) but she did insist in pulling the weeds in her fish pond by hand:rolleyes:
finally I told her that I had used a full bottle of remover on her and from now on I was going to have to charge her for the soak off. Her next visit she had all her nails and only had lifting on one nail and freely admitted that she'd been more careful because of the extra cost.
Back to your original question I would go with the retention +
