Hey!

Ive just started doing my essential nails acrylic tips course. Everything seems pretty good and I'm enjoying it, just got a couple of questions.

1. I'm finding the sizes of the tips very strange. The woman on the phone siad that I should be using the number 4 tip for the number 13 nail. The curve matches, but it is far too big. I have been filing it down a lot, but just wondered if this is right...??? I'm just finding that none of the tips are a great fit. Has anyone used different tips??

2. My number 13 nail doesn't click into place properly on the hand. It clicks once, but when you try to click it further down, it just pops back out. Anyone else experienced this??

Apart from those 2 things, I'm finding it great... having a bit of trouble actually doing the acrylic overlaying but I'm working on it lol. Cheerz guys,
Hannah x x

Hi hun i was told that the tips supplyed are not meant to fit the nails properly as thats part of your training learning to pre tailor the tips to fit each individual clients needs. I had trouble with some of my nails not clicking in either and found if you take the finger tip off they fit it and stay put!!! HTH

Hi hannah, glad to hear you are enjoying the course. When you said you were filing, what did you mean, the tip or the edges. With regrds to the nails popping out, to solve this problem you should place the hand trainer on a flat surface, press the nails in, you can press the nail in 1 2 or 3 positions. Hope this is helpful :)

The nail popping out could be that you are putting it too close to the end of the finger. Try placing the nail back slightly and it should click in ok.

Thanks!! We have spoken before actually and you advised me that the creative velocity tips are good ( i did buy them and they are good, im just worried that I'm not 'supposed' to be using them!). Anyway, I'm really glad I decided to go for this course, cos I did so much reserach on other courses, but always ended up looking back on essentialnails! And i think its great! Thanks for the help x x

Yea you can use them babes, they dont penalise you for using different tips or glue I used the Gelbond and Mercia tips, Sarah will tell you if you ask but you can take our word for it..xx

Just a query?

Why are you not asking your questions to Essential Nails?

I understand they are there to help you .. so why not take advantage of that?

I wish i had spoken to Sarah today then, i called up to ask this question myself but Sarah was off and i spoke to someone else. She didnt tell me a straight no, just that theres nothing wrong with the EN tips they are good qaulity, strong and bla bla... and that i should stick with those supplied. I have already ordered some CND Velocity ones and the postie man is bringing me some hopefully tomorrow so i am going to use them. xx
