I am a cosmo and went to school 17 years ago, I am slowly but surely getting into doing nails. I need help with gel removal. I have a sample of (hard gel )Synergy by YN and I don't know what to do exactly to remove them. I assume it is to file it off, but what will happen when I get close to the base gel will it just crumble or do I just keep filing all the way to my nail bed? Scary

Also can soak off gel be used on a form or tips to build a nail like the hard or non soak off gels? Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever used gel before? I really think that you should do some training with the product before you start experimenting with it, There is an art to buffing of the gel, you have to be able to see the change when the gel starts to thin so that you can change to using a buffer, I don't think you should be doing that now though as you could do your self some real damage. If your trained in l&p then you chould be able to do a conversion to gel course as the prep is the same. I hope this has helped you. Jo.Xx

To buff off gel safely and correctly, you do not buff all the way to the nailPLATE.

It is customary to leave a thin layer on top of the plate to grow out, or to buff to the 'thin layer' stage and then soak off the rest. Normally when the last layer is very very thin, it will remove by soaking with a product remover such as D-Solve which is very fast and efficient.

what is D-Solve Gigi? I've never heard of it
