Hi,
I am looking to hire out a beauty room within a hairdressers. However I think the asking price is way to high!
I will have my own set of keys and come and go as I please, I have a whole front window to use however I wish. The room is slightly smaller than a normal theripist room, and has a sink in one corner.
Can anyone help me with what is an acceptable amount to pay?
:irked:

Hi we also rent a space to another Nail Tech, she pays at the end of the week 10% of what she makes, and she supplies her own stock, does her own advertising, but if she is busy we take her appointments for her etc

But then others may be different, what type of $$$ is she asking? and what exactly are her terms, it just gives me a bit more to go off.
:)

£700 a month, basically for the room, window space and thats it.
I will supply all my own stock, I can decorate the room how I like at my own cost, all my own furniture etc.

I am so excited as it is a dream of mine to have my own place and this seems in good location and I will more or less have my own place but without having to buy and build etc it all up. However I think the costing is way to much!

Thank you!

OMG.........that is too expensive, that sort of money here in Australia is like $1,400.00.....per month.....

I think you need to have another talk with this lady, and say, look how about we decide on another price, you could run your own "Nails on Wheels" cheaper than that, I'm sorry to sound very judgemental, but is that a good price, too me that is ridiculous........

Is it a great location?? with passing traffic (like a million people per day?)

wow that does sound a lot i would look around and get some more prices.

x:)

 lol I know that was my reaction too!

I have done a bit off research and it is no where near what is being asked!

Also it went in the local paper and it seems like everyone else has had the same reaction as they called and asked if I was still interested!

WOW! That's sounds really high!!!!! I looked at renting a room out of a busy gym and hotel and that was only £400 a month!

Hi I have been renting a room in Hair salon, exactly the same as you except my nail bar is in the hair salon, I have been paying £700 a month for 19 months now!!! (stupid I know), but am leaving next week to work from home as it is so expensive and in the credit crunch it is a big expense on top of your other cost.

Yes I would definately say that is WAY TOO much!! I rent a room in a hairdressers and I dont pay anything near that! Way off! Id look somewhere else hun xx

I would just make them an offer and see. Obviously they have had no interest and they would rather get some money than none at all.
Offer them say £400 a month and see what they say.
Tell them that everywhere else in the area charges about that and that their rent is far too high.
They can only say no!

I think 20% of what you earn is fair.

It is difficult to say whether what you currently pay is expensive or not (my immediate thoughs are that it is) but it all depends on location and your earning potential. I could only see me paying £700 per month for a real prime spot in the best hair salon in the best part of the country.

How much would it cost in Watford for you to rent a shop on the High Street? What percentage of the salon owner's rent do you think you pay?

Woooooo NO NO NO....my shop rent is far cheaper than that!

Thats pure greed.....I left a hairdressers & the top rate there for the room for the week was £120....I thought that was a lot.
