A run down of the most popular and influential beauty blogs in the UK has been compiled by social media specialist mymarket.com. It aims to be the 'FTSE 100 of beauty blogs', providing a unique picture into the growing dominance of personal online sites.

Sean Smith of mymarketmonitor.com says: “Consumers are turning to beauty blogs as they are perceived to provide an honest and independent opinion on beauty products. Now brands can identify which bloggers are most likely to write about their products, target them and engage with their consumers."

Anonymous voices were once the norm, serving as a way for many experts to speak out without consequence. Today, however, the landscape has changed in exchange for more recognition behind the written words. Beauty blogs have taken off, helped by longstanding writers such as the British Beauty Blogger, whose good opinion is sought after by top beauty brands. Meanwhile, established beauty journalists are also leading the way, such as Gemma Ward, Editor of The Salon, who is giving readers an insight into her busy diary with her new blog Good Luxe Daily.

“We track a brand across the beauty blogs, as well as other social media sites, measuring the impressions, backlinks, sentiment and influence so brands can get a true understanding of their value," confirms Smith. This is available 24/7 and updated every 20 minutes through mymarketmonitor.com online.”

I love beauty bloggers...infact i don't purchase ANYTHING before i have read as many reviews on it as possible...problem is that i often read amazing reviews and it actually makes me wanna buy it even if i don't need it....:)

I love seeing product swatches, FOTD (face of the day) etc....some of the bloggers are very good and other not so...but those who love beauty, make up ect...they make for great reading and you can learn so much about cosmetics, how they work and the ingredients because alot of these bloggers are very informational. Many of them state on their site that they are not professionals and the information given is based purely on their own opinions and trials...fair enough.

One of my favorites (of many) is lollipop26writes.com

I didn't know Lollipop26 had a written blog too. I love watching her YouTube vids. I've noticed she does a few competitions. One time she was giving away straighteners. I think she said the company contacted her to do the competition.

I think beauty blogs are great and have probably saved me a fortune because of the honest reviews, would be good if the mags did the same!

I read Laura's blog too.

They can be very informative, and I love them for that.

There is a few thing's I've bought after reading various reviews on blog's and there is some that are very inticing and makes me think "do I actually need it?!" lol.
