Hi
I am Lilli

please do advise
I really want to start a biz in SPMU and because of the training fee (arounnd £6000) I am a bit scared.
just thinking if I cant get enough clients what shall I do?all the money is gone.
can you geeks advise me about the market of this treatment?
what is the minimum No of clients each month if you advertise?

cheers

I have done alot of research in this and I think your going to have to be prepared for the outlay and the slow return of your investment whilst your gaining experience (like pretty much any sort of training).

This is why I havent jumped into this without thinking it over and reading up on it...it is an awful lot of money to invest in yourself - and you will also need nerves of steel...remember this is a permanent procedure so you will need the best training available and that will be just the start.

I think I will be ready to do a course next year when my financial situation is better and there is less to worry about - also I want to enjoy the experience and not worry about the return.

There are a few geeks who do this and think they will be willing to help you.

good luck.

Hi Lilli,

I'm a PMU Geek, I hope i can be of help to you.

I trained with Debra Robson-Lawrence at Harley Street London Permanent make up - Cosmetics - eyebrow- Debra Robson Lawrence - London / UK
Things have changed a little since i trained with Debra..she's got even bigger and better. They will come to your salon and train you 1 to 1, you will have to supply the models(this is a great way of introducing your clients to PMU) they may book future appiontments with you.

The cost of training varies from company to company..what you should be looking for is a teacher who is upto date, uses fantastic products Inks etc/has a wide knowledge of the industry/has time for after you have paid your money and done your training and most of all easy going and a pleasure to train with.

Most of the main company's offer products and basic equipment in your training fees, how much more on top of that you can squeeze out of them is up to you. (not saying they will give more, but you can try)

The precision plus, PMU medical tattooing machine( I use) cost around £3,000and it's brill brill brill.

Make sure you can get insurance first and don't be fooled by company's saying you can only get insurance if you train with them..i use pro beauty(beauty direct). they cover makeup but not medical tattooing such as breast reconstruction treatments etc

Don't expect a massive turover for a year or two..you will have to work hard introducing yourself to all local business's and alot of your time is spent reading researching and practise practise practise hard.

Lookinto as much as you can, don't jump into the first company that offers the best deal..ask me as many questions as you like on on here every eve

Love and Hugs Jenx:hug:

Lilli.......I'm sorry to be blunt but I spent ages this afternoon answering all of your questions on this subject. I can't believe that after 16 PM's between us, you still felt that you had to start a thread with the same questions.

I'm not suggesting that my answers are the only ones that matter but come on.........if you're really serious about doing SPMU, you'll look into the different courses and decide yourself if the outlay is worth the income.

Nobody will be able to tell you what you can earn as I explained fully in my PM's. It's all about what you want to put into marketing yourself etc.

THE BROW QUEEN
Thanks for your advises but I needed to get other professional people's opinion as well. I don’t think this is a crime
I did appreciate your comments and please don’t get offended if one person asks for advise from other people and not just you.
Be open minded and don’t create an unhealthy environment. Your comments made me really uncomfortable

I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable Lilli........that wasn't my intention.

I guess I should be flattered as you only joined today and the first thing that you did was PM me. It's great that you got the hang of the site so quickly. I'm curious.......do we know each other or have you ever been a geek under another name? Can I also remind you that I gave you my mobile number to call so I could help you but you ignored that and kept on PM'ing me.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I upset you. Hope you get the answers you want.

Hi Lilli,

First of all welcome to the wonderful world of Salon Geek! You'll be hooked in no time!

I have specialised in permanent make up for over 7 years so feel free to ask any questions you may have...i'm happy to help where I can!

Training in pmu should not be taken lightly and I would highly recommend spending a lot of time researching training academies, you may also want to go to one of the big beauty shows next year and speak to reps from the various companies who exhibit there.

Offering pmu can be very profitable but you do have to be prepared to put a lot of work into marketing yourself.

I'm happy to help out where I can with any questions you may have about pmu

sorry for the late reply...... 6000, is way of the mark.. by the time you have treated your first lot of real people with all the kit, you would be looking around £12000-15000, really its that much, you always need so much more kit, maybe a lot more.

the price that is charged, say for brows at lets just say £400 is well justified, with the skill of the right person, with places charging £1000 a day for extra training.

The are a lot of average PMU out there, and this is not good, its your face, and your only face, so you should only have the best.

all the best

thought so, its nice to have reassurance from people within the industry who can give a professional opinion.
though i am expecting her to make me look 20 years younger, thats not too much to ask from someone at the top of her profession is it

She is very good, as BQ said, and a friend of mine,

say hello from Heidi,

Hiya

Nilam was feeatured on Celeb Scissorhand for children in need, she did a fab jod of linea's brows.
She is one of the most respected PMU tech/trainers..she is part of the Nouveau Contour team.

I love eye treatments they are fantastic..please post a pic.

Back to post, It cost me thousands of ££££££££££££££££'s to train in PMU.
I must say a great industry to be involved in..hard work to get started and confident working alone, It's very inportant when choosing your trainer or PMU tech, they they will support you if you come accross any problems after training or treatment.

The geek site has quite a few of up PMU tech's to offer support and advise anytime.

Good luck in all you do
