Hi

Just a quick question I have not done nails for a little while a want to get back into them. I was just wondering what you do with regards to the (white bit), as I have been taught that you can use white tips and then just put pink arcylic all over the nail, as I am not very good at doing the white arcylic smile line.
Was just wondering if anyone else does this or do you do the white smile line.

Hi there! You may want to update your profile to include Nail Geek - as without it you won't get much help here! Professionals don't want to give out product and application advice to people that are non-professionals - just a heads up.

Yes, you can do overlays using white tips. Do not put the pink over the white tip.

I always do the white smile with white polymer, that way they can be rebalanced for months or even years,
if you only use white tips you are going to be soaking off sets unnecessarily after a few appointments, hth

Also, white tips make anything except the most beautiful nail beds look short and stumpy. Using white polymer enables you to place your smile line where it is most flattering..... Also, as has previously been mentioned you will need white polymer to rebalance nails.

You may only know the one way because that is how you have been taught ... if so .... it's time to progress and move on.

The best nail techs and the ones who are making money and a name for themselves in our industry are the one who progress and build their skills to the highest level.

What a boring old world and what a low standard we would have if we did not progress.

Thank you for all you replies that has help me I will have to source out a good Acrylic course. Think I will do a beginners course again as then i will be taught the best way. Can anyone suggest a good course.

I can only speak for the company I did my training with which are Creative - you'll find tons of threads on here about which company to go with. Do a bit of research on whats out there and good luck with your future education

Iv only been trained to us the white tip also, and i love how they look when they have been done with l&p with out the plastice tips. This is why im going to do a course to do this, as they look a lot better i must say.xxx
