What skin care range do you use? Most good professional brands will train you in techniques & routines that can be used to enhance your treatments. For further inspiration I often trawl around the websites of salons/spas around the world & read descriptions of their treatments & if something sounds good I consider adding it to my own treatments. For example, one spa places your feet in a bowl of aromatic waters before the treatments, during which time you could take their consultation.
A few things you could do is look at some sort of massage before the facial. When I used to use Aromatherapy Associates a 10 minute scalp massage using a drop of neat frankincense oil was performed after holding the hands above (not on) their face for a few moments as a relaxing inhalation. With Decleor we always start with a back diagnostic massage. I take it you already offer a hand/arm massage with the face mask.
Do you steam the face at all? That's worth adding in if you don't, else replace it with a hot towel to soften secretions, maybe adding a few drops of essential oil into the hot water to aromatise it. Hot towels can also be used to remove the mask in place of sponges, which makes a nice finishing touch.
How about introducing some specialist masks as a way for the client to upgrade their facial? If you're not using a specific skincare system that offers specialist masks then you could try introducing a paraffin wax mask, hot oil mask or herbal/oatmeal poultice (look in one of those natural skincare books for ideas), or look in the Ellisons catalogue, which has quite a few different types of mask you can buy in.
There are other things you can do for client comfort, such as hot blankets, a hot wheatie under their neck, those cold eye masks whilst the mask is on, warming the oil for the massage, putting rosewater in a spritzer to freshen the face at the end. To be honest the jewel in the crown of my facial is the massage as all my Decleor facials start with a mini-back massage, have a 15-20 minute facial massage & a 5 minute arm/hand massage; remember besides the use of active ingredients the one thing your client can't do at home is massage themselves so I always play up not only the relaxing benefit of the facial but the physiological benefits to the skin of increase blood flow (oxygenation, repair etc), increase lymph drainage, muscle relaxation/toning, stimulation of fibroblastic activity, increased penetration of products & so forth.
