Hi everyone,

I am doing up to 8 spray tans a day and was wondering if any of you wear a mask whilst spraying your clients?

I tried a surgical mask one day and apart from looking damn stupid LOL I ended up with a lot of tan round my nasal area!!!

Sarah

Whilst spray tanning is a very safe and fabulous treatment it is recommended that you wear either a disposable face masks or therapist mask (these last up to 8 tans).

You will notice that after you have done quite a few tans that you will feel that you've had a night out on the tiles and smoked more ****!!!!! than you should have. The solution rests on your chest, so you should look after yourself.

You can buy either through your local beauty wholesaler or ebay!!!!

I don't wear a mask.
I think maybe if you are doing a lot then you should, but i don't.
I have done up to 14 in one day and i do notice that if you blow your nose it's brown
I think it would put people off a bit if you had a mask on-maybe sniffits would be better.

I wear a mask cause I've been lots in a day and don't like the chesty feeling I get from the spray  I don't have an extractor yet till the new fake bake pod it delivered.

Hahah, I had the same problem, I was walking around town before I notice I had 2 lines on my nasal area!
My chest gets a bit funny sometimes, so I make sure I wear a msK. I'm going to buy mine from BnQ as it's cheaper!
:)

Yey..another B&Q convert...share prices are going to sky rocket :)

While getting a fresh supply of face masks on your next visit why not have a look at their new season solutions, some lovely copper tones -its the new black:eek: and guaranteed not to get up your nose:eek::eek::lol:

Oh and for those therapists that do find face masks unbearable to wear for whatever reason...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD EXTRACTION so as to remove as much airborne solution particles before they can disappear up your nose and settle on your chest.

Alternativley or in addition to good extraction/air purification you could always try snifits

I wear a mask normally as I am doing loads in a week, I notice that if I dont I can taste it and it does get up my nose. I do notice that it gets round my nostrils even with the mask though so i'm looking into extraction units at the moment too. Anyone tried the hurricane one that is on the spray tan supermarket site?

Hi

Regarding extractor fans.... how do you manage if you are mobile spray tanning? I have enough carrying with tent, machine, towels etc... would love to know...

Thanks
Janet

Generally speaking you don't need one when visiting clients and only doing one or two....spray tan parties becomes a little more of a necessity although I suspect most therapists don't bother for these.

I havent bothered up till now and wouldnt bother for one or two but some nights i'm doing loads, not always in the same house but I still feel it by the end of the night... Would take it for parties definately.

I dont know how i'll carry it either lol, normally got tent over one shoulder, bag with machine, solution, record cards, disposables etc etc etc, weighs a ton! then another bag full of retail stuff and my couch roll so no hands free for extractor.... guess i'd make an extra trip to the car for a party :green:
