I did my first spray tan today other then my course, the only thing was the room wasnt that big and I could feel the tan catching in my chest and I was coughing afterwards. I will be doing moblile so I wont be able to control the size of the rooms, but my question is do you spray with a mask? And do you get your client to wear one??

hiya ,

The answer to that one is yes certainly if you feel you need to wear one, there is nothing wrong with that.
As for the client you can always ask them if they would like to wear one throughout the treatment and then remove before tanning their face (which I always do last)

Yes I always wear one because the same happens to me. I always encourage the client to use one but explain because I do a lot of tans I always wear them.

I have to say though, different tanning solutions are worse for my chest than others.

Hi there,

You could use things called "sniffits" available from Tantrick. They go in the nose and so stop you from breathing the spray in, they can also be used by your clients even while spraying the face.

Have a look on tantrick spraytan - always worth having some for clients who want them.

I might be wrong but surely the 'sniffits' wouldnt stop you breathing in the solution, wouldnt it just aggrivate your chest by breathing it in through your mouth instead of your nose???

i had my salon checked recently so i could start offering a new treatment by the local enviromental health officer.

he said i must be wearing a mask to protect myself. as down the line who knows what health implications we may start.
