Hello fellow geeks,

I have a few questions re spray tanning/courses etc.

I am looking at different courses at the moment and still trying to decide which one to go for but just have a few questions that i hope you can help answer!

1. If i purchase my kit from one company am i able to use other companies solutions? i dont want to be limited.

2. Would you advise me to get my kit seperately?

3. What do all 'standard' kits contain?

Any other advise would be much appreciated :)

Thank you xxx

1. You can use any solution you want regardless of where you buy your kit from. Most kits come with an HVLP machine and as far as I am aware there are no solutions that you can't use.

2. It is a good idea to get your kit from who you wish to train with as it means you can use it in training and it will be all set up and checked for you.

3. I can't speak for all companies, but generally the kits contain an HVLP machine (HVLP 5008 is a fantastic machine), a tent, solution and marketing materials.

Hope that helps xxx

Hi There,

You are training in the technique of spray tanning not training with the products so yes, you can use whichever solution you like.

Personally, I bought my kit from the company I trained with - it is important to purchase from a reputable supplier of Spray Tanning equipment - Tantrick, Nouvatan, Sienna X etc etc

You will need Gun, Tent and Solution to get going.

There are lots of reputable companies out there for you to choose from and lots of posts on here showing peoples experiences.

Please properly research your training before booking though

Once trained, you can swap and change solutions till you and clients are truly happy.. just remember you may have to adjust the nozel, to suit the solution kits usually have machine - tent - promotion material - 1ltr solution ... hplv as above i totaly agree x

Thanks for your feedback!

I have found an excellent deal at LA tan for tent, gun and 3 litres of solution!!

i may get that and book training seperately.

What else will i need to get started - towels for feet etc?

Thanks xx

What we have in our spray tan kit (just the bits and bobs we need for tanning)

Towels (for bottom of the tent)
Couch Roll (for checking spray coming out before putting on a client, you could always use kitchen roll)
Hair caps (heard a horror story about someones very bleached hair being stained by tan, so I get everyone to pop one on to cover their hair)
Barrier Cream (for knees, elbows and ankles)

I think thats all...

Some people use sticky feet to protect the feet but I just use towels or couch roll.

Thanks Kimi!

I'm about to order from LA tan but not sure which solution to order?

Which is the most popular - i have not undertaken training yet so need some guidance before i process the order!

Training in a few weeks but dont want to miss out on this offer!

Thanks xxxx

hi i've just started spray and brought a 8% 10% and 12% I also got a 12.5% for the people that want to be really dark. So far I have used the 8% and 10% x

what you want is a HVLP 5008...call LA Tan and ask if that is what they have. There is one and it can't cope with being on continuously for too long...search maximist on here and steve @ nouvatan has done a post about it....very informative.

Hiya, to add to this list, id also get some disposable gloves for your hand or your own hands will have tan on them and I always have the little disposable thongs as i find them great. I also carry around a bottle of solar oil in my tan kit too as i find that some clients forget to paint their nails and its handy to just paint it on, they also feel they are getting another little treatment. HTH;)

dnt forget some facemasks to protect yourself.i bought a ebook from ebay for a few pound has loads of tips and advice thought it was realy gud and helped me ,think its on the solutions catergory x

Hi I got this deal with LA tan and it is the HVLP 5008, its a great machine. I also got 8 10 and 12 as it covers all areas too. I wasn't that impressed with the lotions though so I am currently trying others out. :D

Hi, I bought this offer many months back. It’s one of the best offers out there, it is indeed the HVLP 5008 it’s a fab machine, and I have not had one problem with it. The tent has got the see through roof so it lets more light in, my eyes are terrible! Even with glass’s...
I love there colours, I use LA gold for fair skin tone clients and 10 for med skin tone clients and 12 for dark skin tone clients, and the LA disco for dancers and the brave ones I spray.. You will have a good range with the 8, 10 and 12% hun x

I also bought the offer many months back, its great value for money it kinda gives you everything you need to start up. There was some confusion as to if it is the maxi mist hvlp 5008 machine, and if it is manufactured in the UK, it is indeed as it states this on my warranty. There solutions are fab, i had the record for the longest amount of days it stayed on the other week,. 8 days! whoop.. :Look_righ(Don’t know what this arrow is for, but i liked the look of it) he he x

I buy fablon by the roll, (the sticky backed stuff used to cover cupboard doors, fridges etc) and cut them into sole sized strips, its loads cheaper than buying sticki feet, and you can get it in all different funky colours, i get maybe 20-25 pairs out of one roll for £2.99 and never get any complaints.hope this helps.xxx
