ok so my beauty therapist has called in sick for tomorrow, she has a sickness bug. what would you do in regards to clients? she is my only therapist so ill be able to do the tans she has booked in but obv not the waxing etc. should i offer people money off another appt with her? i feel dreadful for letting everyone down when they have nights out etc to go to. and dont know how long she will be off for. this is my firt major stress as a salon owner :( thanks in advance for help xx (ps i dont have some clients numbers which is additional worry) xx

Argh no!!!!! Theres your 1st lesson learnt then. Take EVERY clients name and number!

The only thing you can do is ring them and apologise and tell them your beauty therapist has rang in sick and she's really ill. Ask the beauty therapist when she thinks she might be back and book the clients back in again. I'd try not to give a discount but offer an additional treatment for free like a shape and polish or an eyebrow wax so your retaining as much as the profit as you can in the business. Hope that helps

I'm in a similar postion with having to cancel clients due to fracturing my wrist, felt so awful having to do it but it could not be helped. I have contacted them all and apologised, wished them a merry xmas and said I hope to see them in the newyear, all have been perfectly fine with this, as tbh there is nothing myself, you or your therapist can do we're only human lol xx

Why not ask on here in the recruitment section and see if there is a therapist near to you who could give you a hand? It's worth try at least isn't it?It might be a good thing for both parties.

I would do as geeg reccomemded...see if you can find another therapist would could help out....there might be someone near you who isn't busy...look in yellow pages even and just ring round....I think if it was me i would be trying to get those clients booked in with someone else even if it meant i lost out money wise.
