Booo Hoooo :'''(

Im stuck at home - but this time - its ICE not snow, so i obviously didnt predict this to happen - therfore - i didnt bring the clients details home for today!! I cant get to my salon and people are going to be turning up!

Taxis wont come for me, none of my neighbours can get out either so i cant beg a lift and it will take me 1 - 2 hours to walk there in this (down two of the lonnnnnnngest and steepest hills in the area - i bet they are just wonderful to get down if the cars cant even get about) so i didnt want to chance killing myself!

I hope they are understanding tomorrow when i call them :(

SICK OF THIS WEATHER!!!!

I know the feeling-in North Wales and not going in as by time i get half hour to work il have to come back! Atleast you've got clients:) im new (november) and this snow has killed what was starting to build up!

Anyway- i was thinking, is it just your shoip or is there another business there who could explain to your clients(if they even come out in this)? or is there a friend you could get to put a sign onyour door maybe? If all else fails, im sure you it be ok, not many come out in this after all- in fear of also doing themselves a mischief! All you cna do is apologise and explain x

can u ring one of the local business' thats near the salon to stick a note on the door.

also explaining you dont have their details

something like

Not open today due to ice and travel issues also unable to contact clients etc.

If you have an answerphone in the salon, with most of them you can change the message remotely. If you check the manual & find you can then you could always change the message to explain the situation.

Im sure they will be fine, afterall, i have never ever let them down before! Oh well.......wish i was mobiler today - then at least i woudnt be stressing over my shop been closed :(

thanks everyone

xx

Posted via Mobile Device i'm sick of this weather too, I actually want to scream! I've been completely and utterly snowed in since 18th December here so I've got no wages this month, no idea what I'm going to do as I used my savings to pay my road tax in December! :(

oh dear oh dear! This job is realy grating on my nerves this week! I feel so sorry for us all :(

Chins up!!!!

The big thaw soon...so we can all get soaked on the way to work instead of frozen!!

Ohhhhh the joys of January

You and me both hun, im in an area near to you, when i have managed to get into work the clients have not been able to get to the salon so it hasn't made any difference anyway,
my driving instructor has cancelled about 10 lessons on me in the last 3 weeks, we keep rescheduling and rescheduling,
i give in, fed up is not the words trust me,
sod it all, im having a pyjama day xoxoxox

A pyjama day sounds fab, we have snow forecast for the whole day and night here. The roads were just finally cleared yesterday as well. Oh well xxx

Sorry you can't make it in or let your clients know, I know how bad you feel. I had to let a client down last week as well. Felt awful xx

just letting you know its no better for us mobiles, it's all side roads and walking up slippy drives..but at least i have their phone numbers and can cancell, most have been lovely about the weather anyway

Our problems this morning was gridlock as opposed to the snow! The whole of south London gridlocked this morning. All my staff got here ok in the end, just all very late. Am so sick of this weather. Heard on the news earlier that the federation of small business wants a meeting with the government to ask for help for small companies that have been hurt by the bad weather and school closures.

ooooh well fingers x !!! Im a member of the FSB

i knew there was a reason for joining them!!!

Thankyou!

(i still feel rubbish though-am going to try and venture out in a while and try call the people i missed today )

I had a week off last week unpaid as I just wasn't going to risk my sanity, health or car for anyone.

Have managed to get into work the past 3 days but it is thawing here, unfortunatley I would say the past 3 days have been more dangerous, the cars are wheel spinning and their are 2 ruts in the road in the estate and if you can't get onto them you are slipping and sliding all over the shop.

Heres hoping that the weekend brings a proper thaw.

Am flying down to teach in Cardiff next weekend so am keeping my eye on the weather there too.

Hopefully there will be lots of pent up demand, so as soon as the sodding gritters get their acts together we will be packed out!

Maybe your clients wouldn't have made it today anyway so it might not be as bad as you think. I didn't work for 4 days last week but have had a few this week. Nothing we can do really, we don't like things being out of our control, I don't anyway.

Pyjama day sounds fab!
