Spray tan for me, I have never been on a sunbed, too clostro...frightened of enclosed spaces.

I used to use sunbeds (too much) then I too had a scare with a mole on my leg. Within 2 weeks of visiting my GP I was in hospital having the mole removed from my leg!!
Very scary experience they didn't even do a biopsy first!?
Eveytime I think of going on the sun beds now I only need to look at the ugly scar left on my leg to remind me to get a spray tan done instead x x x :Love:

Spray tan all the way for me I am afraid.
I used to use sunbeds for about 2 weeks prior to my holiday to give me a starter but then developed a breast lump which in my consultants opinion was caused by a burn (probably from the sunbed) which turned out to be necrosis (or gangrene to the layman). The tissue on the side of my "left one" literally died. It still gives me some pain now and it is nearly 4 years ago.
Sunbed for me ....... never again!
Not wishing to be controversial though, I think the lucrative days of sun bed salons are over - there were 3 near me and now there is only 1 left. There is another one near me but it is up for sale and has beenf or quite some time now with no takers.
I remember when I first went to Professional Beauty at GMex and a whole hall was dedicated to sun beds and this year I can't remember seeing one!

If I want to look brown I use cream or spray tans as I don't want fashion cancer! :lol:

I voted sunbed as a preference. I do like spray but i like being warm when getting a tan and when i close my eyes i imagine im on the beach lol ! im in essex

I voted other as I use Fake Bake products. I am biased after the skin cancer thought. I live in Skipton North Yorkshire.

I voted spray tan, I used to use the sunbed but wrinkles have evolved though sun and sunbed use. I live in Coalville, Leicestershire. x
I voted both. Personally I LOVE going on the sunbed but am terrified of the possible consequences. When we refurbished the salon last year we got rid of the sunbed and i havent been on one since. I probably will have a few sunbed sessions before holiday in the summer as I will burn otherwise. I do love a spray tan too, so will have to start having them regularly as the weather warms up. If i apply tan to myself then I always use fake bake cream, as i love the colour and it is pretty easy to apply.

I opt for spray tans. However, I rent space in our local Tanning Shop and it is AMAZING the number of people who use the sunbeds for various reasons - to get a tan of course, skin problems and some are prescribed sessions for depression. There are 5 tanning booths in the salon and they are all required at busy times.

I voted for spray tan.Faking it is sooooooo much better than sunbed,your skin would thank you long term,and personally i would fake tan my face and use spfs all year round,im wrinkle phobic!!:green:

i voted spray tan. sunbeds aren't worth the long term skin damage for the vanity of having a tan! I also like Fake Bake cream. I live in Devon

hiya, i just wated to let u know the following so that u don't come to any harm from ur sunbed exposure. i have had severe psoriasis in the past and have been advised to go on UVA sunbeds by top dermatologists in London. ultimately i did get rid of the disorder, having sufferd from 80% coverage, from the ages of 9-19, after sunbathing for 3 weeks, in 45 degree heat in the dead sea, israel for 10 hours/day. Believe me it was damn hard work and it wasn't the Dead Sea Water as i never went in it. Of course i was under the supervision of docs there who specialise in 'climatic' treatment.
HOWEVER, according to all climatic docs as, far as their research suggests, and there has been a lot done,(+ many western dermatologists believe this too) psoriatics have a certain protection again skin cancer- don't know how or why but they do. the incidence of skin cancer amoungst psoriatics is very very very low, especially taking into account how much sun exposure they seek in a lifetime. its apparently the only one plus side to having the skin disorder.
just thought i wud mention this as i wudn't want u 2 cum to harm.
