I shared it here on salon geek a few years ago ... The thread title was ... Want to know my secret mix? If you do a search you will find it. X

oops, we must've posted at the same time! lol

can i use yellow additive instead of yellow powder? I'm guessing yes? x

I would not do it that way. I would make a small pot of yellow powder using the pure pigment and then add a pinch of that to the mix ... Doing this would better replicate how I made the free edge colour in the first place.

2 parts clear powder, 1 part yellow additive?

I'm a bit of a mouthy sod :)

I ask the client "do you want them to look real"?

If they says "yes" then want French, my attitude changes ..... "so, you want to look like a pole dancer"?

Then I show them various pictures and examples, usually they go for the "real" look, a "real" thickness, a "real" length and a believable look, ..... but there are always those that want ......... lets just say "what I don't want for them" :)

I do give in .... feign dry reaching and transform them into porn stars ...... in the end it's about money and it's about them, there's no accounting for taste.

I have built a very successful business from doing "Nails that look real" and transforming them from one look (fake) to another look (are they real or not), it's not easy in the Red Light district of Australia

Would using Natural Sheer (CND's Perfect colour powder) on zone 1 replicate a natural looking extension edge? X

Over a natural coloured tip or over a natural free edge then yes. Sculpting using the natural powder as the free edge would not. That powder is hard to describe, but it is sheer so you can see right through it.

I think I understand. Best used over natural tips or NNO.

Thank you x
