Hey there,
Ive had a couple of clients whos nails seem to be lifting at the upper side wall and I think its where the tip hasnt quite reached the edge of the natural nail so when the nail grows there is a gap between the extension and the natural nail at the side..( sorry if its a bit waffly its hard to explain in words!)
is it therefore better to slightly oversize the tip? i seem to be getting clients whos nails dont fit the tips well.

Also during a rebalance if there is a gap would you suggest re doing the extension from start or maybe using a form to add the extra width thats missing as it were..having said that usually at this point the lifting has started to creep across into the natural nail free egde..hope this makes sense!

I ve had 2 clients with this problem so want to get some advice asap....having thought about it a bit Im sure its due to tipping but what do I know!!

Thanks guys:eek:

If a client is in between two tip sizes, use the slightly bigger tip and tailor it to fit perfectly by filing down the sides to the correct size.

Yes hun it is because you have not sized the tips up correctly,
if they have an odd sized nail use the next size up and tailor it to fit by filing the sides of the tip before fitting it to the nail so that it fits fully from one side to the other,
if they have bad lifting it is probably going to be just as quick to replace with a tip that fits from one side to the other and then you wont have the same problem when they return on their next appointment hth

i totally agree with you girls.
its always best to go up a size as you can make it fit.if a tip is already to small then there is nothing you can do to make it bigger.
if it were me i would probably soak off and start again as you now know what the problem was and you can only correct it if you start afresh.xx
