Tips for men's crack wax

Still new to the male waxing i have been practicing on some non paying guys this week (thought it would take the pressure off)! Anyway, pure coincidence but both Asian with mad hair growth and they were both new to waxing. Can you help on -

1) When running the spatula of hot wax between the buttocks and as far as i can go, i struggle to get thick neat edge to the wax so when removing it is a struggle. Also random hairs are caught in it which doesn't help. The hair wasn't too long, should i just clipper anyway or is there a way off finishing with a neat edge i am forgetting?

2) Then on the buttocks the hair went in loads of directions, obviously not wanted to keep going over the area again it was a chore, any tips?

I really hope it was the strong hair and the growth rather than me as it has dented my confidence a little!

Yes i have and had no problems when training. It seems as though by the time the spatchula reaches the sac the wax has tailed off to thinly and picked up a few stray hairs stray hairs making it awkward to pick up a handle.

May I ask who you trained with?

If the wax 'runs out' you can always get a new spatula and add some more, so you can get the nice even application you need with a good edge to pull from.

When you say random hairs are caught... do you mean from the other side of the crack? If yes it may be that their bum cheeks are slightly too close together. Pat the small of their back and encourage them to adjust their position.

You may need to work in smaller sections to ensure you always work with the hair growth. This is similar to the chest.

I personally think that however many clients we wax, we will always still get one through the door that surprises us with their hair growth :lol:

In fairness you haven't been waxing very long, never mind intimate, and it definitely does get easier with experience. I understand your confidence has been dented but just get back on the horse.

yeah, i trained with Kim Lawless and got on very well and learnt alot.I have found this site to be a wealth of knowledge and thought i would see if other new waxers and simmilar issues.
From the few butt waxes i have done recently it has only been the 2 mentioned that i struggled with. I put it down to the hair being so strong. Maybe when i feel the wax is thining i should stop then with a new spatula overlap and continue till so i can make a good handle.

It is the hair on the sac where the handle is, so when flicking up the edge it pulls a bit. I have another guy tomorrow who is fair so it will be a good to compare the two.

Yes, there's definitely nothing wrong in going back with a fresh spatula to finish off the strip. Hopefully you will get some less hairy guys in the future :hug:

If the client is also having a sac wax, I would do that first, so that when you are doing the crack, the strip finishes on a bare patch of skin.
