Why are male ladybirds not called manbirds?

OMG LEL.....did you have to !!!!!!!!

This is going to wreck my head almost as much as the enamel not drying in the bottle one did during SSW weekend

(Carl I still haven't forgiven you for that lol)

Edit to add after further thought on the matter lol...
Is it a genuine question....do you know the answer.....or is it just a random "emma type" thought ?
:green:

PMSL lell, is this a genuine question?:lol::lol::lol::lol:

This made me laugh Lell....
Good question LMAO and I havent even got a come back for this one.
Man bird I like that.

Mind you, we call our Max a lady-boy !
So I suppose its the same thing, but a less scouse sounding version...
Ladybird is a bit scouse isn't it...well if you add a laaaaaar on the end lol

Hmmmmm I am off to google I may be some time

HAHAHAHAHA
Just saw someone suggest to call them laddybirds...that has a scottish ring to it !

OMG it just gets better....
Female daddy longlegs also have the same problem

Ummmm I'm not a beastie\creepy crawlie person <<got my david attenborough head on lol but ladybirds are more commonly called Ladybugs ,and as far as i know from sir dave there is no separate distinctive markings or anything unfamiliar for the male Ladybird or laddiebird unless of course Ladybird may be called a drake if you're talking about the white cheeked pintail duck. But the ladybirds in male form are simply called male Ladybugs or male Ladybird Beetles...oh and they bite! oh and daddylong legs are apparently another form of a spider.

I'm off for a glass of wine. I'll need one to come up with answers for this!:)Shouldn't they be called Lordbugs????

So why is it that i'm absolutely petrified of the 'S' word, but i'm fine with daddy long legs (who apparently have a very poisonous venom, but no teeth to administer it) i can pick them up and put them out the window no probs ???????

(sorry went a little off topic) but i like the name laddiebugs lol

Linz your ok hun they aren't poisonous enough in england theres no venom in them, apparently they are just your common reject of the beastie species spider\mosquitio\dragonfly :)
