Morning all
I've woken up with a stinking, streaming cold today. Deep flippin' joy.
I have clients booked for later in the day and think I should call them to explain the situation offering them the option to risk getting a cold from me or booking a new appointment.
Just wondered what everyone else does!

i would say give them a call then its upto them xx hope you feel better soon honey xx

Yeh just call them to explain. They will probably say dont worry and come and have their treatment anyway. At least you ave warned them.
Hope your feeling better soon xxx

I personally won't treat clients when I'm sick as I don't want to pass anything on. However, if I was a client, I would like to be notified before hand as I probably would reschedule for when the therapist is better. If I got to an appointment and found out the therapist was sick, I wouldn't be too happy if they hadn't notified me first.

I've phoned them all and they all still want to come!

That's what I would have done, too! If my nail tech called me and gave me the option, I would still want to come in. Especially, since Christmas is just around the corner.

I hope you feel better, soon!

Thanks for the kind wishes; I feel dreadful actually, and seem to be getting worse as the day goes on. Rats!

I understand where you're coming from, and I'm sure you'd much rather be abed and coddling yourself.

Most definately, give them a choice.
Use hand sanitizer often and especially after blowing your nose
I would urge you to wear a mask for the entire service since you are in very close proximity.

A trick I learned out of desperation, for runny noses that interfere with your work...
Ok, don't laugh too hard and DON'T YOU DARE TELL ANYONE:!: :o

Excuse yourself to step aside out of sight of the client (tell her you need to get your nasal spray or go to the loo or whatever...)
Bring your mask with you.
While in there, shove a ball of kleenex/tissue up each nostril.
Put your mask on and DON'T TAKE IT OFF
:lol::lol:
Halfway through the service, excuse yourself again to go change it:lol:

Due to my Raynauds, I am not allowed to take decongestants or other products that stop the nose from running.
At the time, I couldn't stop dripping/blowing long enough to do nails.
It was an act born of desperation.
And worked like a charm!

(ok, you can stop laughing now at the image in your head of me with kleenex up my nose:irked::lol:)

PS: this is now my routine remedy when clients don't want to reschedule and works like a charm every time. I tell them the mask is on so that I don't breathe on them and they're happy with that and they know NOTHING of my kleenex trick. hehehe Of course, you talk funny, but they expect that with a stuffed nose LOL

I've come out in streaming cold today as well but I haven't rung any of my clients..... Reason? I'm fully booked til after Christmas so haven't got anywhere to move them to...... I'm dosed up on Sudafed, going through more hand sanitiser than you would believe and apologising profusely...... Not much else I can do!

After tonight's client I plan on trying to kill my germs with wine! Not very scientific, but hey!!

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON !

I too ring them and give them the opportunity to cancel ( couldnt re book anyone even if they did want to cancel this time of year!)

Mostly they all say they'll still come.

Dose yourself up with day nurse and night nurse mate and look forward to the FINISHING line whenever that is

i LOVE this plan:green:

of course they will still come......never mind the fact that you are ILL and feel terrible...there nails are far more important....

If you don't feel well and don't feel like you can work then don't feel you have too....

If only it were just nails - I have a Brazilian, an eyelash tint (snot on the forehead anyone?) and a facial to do. And that's just today!

Ha ha ...just dont rub the snot in when they havent noticed what you have done ha ha xxx

I feel for you mate:hug:
Hope your day went with out any mishaps, or snot haps!

I had a real streaming cold recently, rang all my clients and told them and they ALL still wanted to come - regardless of wether I felt up to it or not!
They all seemed to say - my lot are all ill, so it'll make no difference.

Mask on, sanitiser round your neck, tissue blocks up the nose as Victoria suggests and sudafed or something that will 'dry' it up.

I have BOTH my kids off, colds & sore throats, so I really hope I don't catch anything - my luck is, come Xmas eve (the start of my holiday) I'll feel like a bag or crushed arseholes!

I hope you feel better soon hun:hug::hug:

It's usually my husband who falls ill at Christmas, so I feel cheated that it's me this year!
I'm tucked up in bed with night nurse, sudafed and mulled wine - roll and roll, eh!
Thanks again for all the good wishes; I hope I feel better tomorrow as I have to take the kitten to have her sutures out first thing in the morning!
