The first powders i purchased while still training were Hawley powders as they were affordable. Since then when I can get hold of them I use No Lift Nails. Occassionally when doing my own nails I will use the Hawley as I see no point in wasting it. But it always crystalizes no matter how the mix ratio is and I always end up using my No Lift Nails powder.

Can anyone give me any tips?

What liquid are you using ?
which Hawleys powders are you using ..... remember, you just mentioned No Lift Nail Powders, so now I'm confused.

I use No Lift powders the majority of the time as when i use the Hawley powders no matter what i try they always crystalize. So i tend to save the Hayley clear and pink powders now for mixing with things like glitters and such which u won't notice the crystals.

I just wanted advice on what would cause this problem. I buy an all round liquid from my supplied that is their brand that will work with anything.

If a product is truly crystallising, then it wouldn't even stay on the nail. True crystallisation is when the powder does not completely integrate with the liquid and is caused by the COLD. cold hands, cold room cold liquid.

What are you actually seeing when you say crystals??? Now I am intrigued!

I haven't used either of the systems you have mentioned, but I can't help but think that by using a liquid that wasn't specifically design to go with them isn't giving them a fair chance IYKWIM

yeah i think u are right geeg, I tried the Hawley out again late last night but heated the room up VERY warm and it worked. It must just need a warmer temp than other products. Which I have had problems with others products doing that. I knew u had to have the room and hands warm when using L&P I had one client who has terrible circulation and her hands were blue always. I had the room perfect temp and went ahead normal procedure on her sister and all was good, moved on to her and done the same normal procedure and done the first couple of fingers and looked back and they were all white from the crystals, i had to file back and start again, had to get her to warm her hands up first by sitting on them lol

But once I had her nails on she is the best client ever, she manaes to have one set on for 4 weeks without infills. I wish I was that lucky

I'd try sticking with the brand of monomer that's supposed to go with the powders.

An "all round liquid" liquid obviously isn't as "all round" as it says it is.
