Hi Geeklins

Well if any of you have followed my Blogs over the past few months you will see that it has been littered with a series of ups and downs.

Now whilst fully appreciating that I still have my own hair (ok the nostril hair I could do without) I'm just about hanging onto my teeth and if you ignore the iminent death by High blood pressure lol I still have my health, I really think that I need a mantra, a good luck charm, my own leprechurn............................................

So who has had a long period of 'trying' times and how did you cope, do any of you have mantras that you swear by, any one swear by a good luck charm or just have a great coping technique ???????????????:)

Best way for helping me cope when things gets bad is to focus on what i have got and not what i havent...or who i did have and not on who i no longer have and remember them with a smile.

Basically just positive thinking....if i am having a bad day i will sit and rack my brains to find just 1 thing about the day that wasn't bad...even if its something as simple as "it didn't rain"...

i agree positive thinking does help , i also have a little buddah that i rub i got him from guru geeky , lol he always seems to be ok for me , but then i count myself lucky for what ever i do have ... i think that helps , lol x

I too have had a rubbish year. There was a full moon last week, which often brings change. In the space of a week, Hubby has found a great new job, and I have found a super new therapist. If you discover how to make fairy dust, please pm me the recipe x

Thank your lucky stars that not only do you have your own hair(all be it nostril hair ) you also have your teeth :lol::hug:

Oh that bloke is still behind you ...is he also only 4' nothing or are you standing on an orange box :lol:

I too agree in the benefits of positive thinking. I am generally a glass is half empty type of gal.

I regularly attend gift/craft fairs and always go in thinking I am going to have a crap day and more often than not I do. However last week I started saying hey I am going to do really well this weekend and boy did I LOL.

When my daughter died in July I started writing lists. In the early days i wrote myself a list of reasons why I had to carry on living. It really helped me when it all got a bit too much.

Gradually I started writing new lists, reasons why i have to get out of bed today, reasons why I have to take Harry to nursary by myself, reasons why I have to go back to work and reasons why I have to go out with my friends and not feel guilty.

Sounds really silly but it was the only way I could function in those first few months. I still have the lists for when things creep up on me but fingers crossed I havent had to look at one now for 3 weeks.

x

God bless you chicca I will have a think about the lists xxxxxx

Colin you always make me laugh !!!! and no hes not a dwarf like myself lol xxxx

I do think in life apart from the obvious things that really can't be changed a lot of the way our lives play out are down to good and bad choices sometimes we will choose to do things that we know are not going to be good for us but we still do it and vice versa and sometimes we are just not sure and its down to fate when i think its down to fate i get my dowser out and ask the question and generally its right which i know when i choose to ignore it :)

He very much reminds me of Max Branning from eastenders ! (sorry I have wandered off topic lol) But I have always thought that,

I could do with some lucky charm too, Mind you saying that, I think I tend to make my own problems
