Hello all!

I was wondering if anyone has left on the vecoity longer than the recommended 4 hours? ie overnight? How did it look? Was fade off quicker?

I have a client booked in next week but she has been going on sunbeds so is quite dark already. She is a bridesmaid on the sat (coming in on thurs)

Would it be ok to do this?

Absolutely you can leave it on more than the recommended 4 hours. I have left it on overnight and it has been fine, although the break down isn't very good.

thanks for your reply

How long did it take before it started to break down?

ok so lets talk facts here....break down issues are generally speaking relevant to the pre tan application preparation...exfoliation,moisturising ,age of the customer and general skin condition as is the post spray tan maintenance regime...moisturising and lightly exfoliating any particularly dry areas and exfoliating the skin fully prior to the next spray tan application.

Get these elements correct and I wager any spray tan solution will do a good job...we just need to get things right before and after the spray tan application
HTH

When I trialled velocity I left it on overnight and was really pleased in the morning - a great golden brown colour. I did go a little patchy on my legs after a week, due to them being extremely dry, but if I'd done my prep properly (I need to prep my legs for a couple of days to get them tan ready) it would've been fine.

I'm going to try it again and leave it on only the recommended 4 hours (for dark tan) to see if it's worth leaving on longer.

I have a few clients who regularly leave it on overnight. They have no issues with it going patchy etc, infact they say they think it lasts even longer than the liquid sun.

thanks guys, i will try this tomorrow, to see how i get on!! xx

Hi, I wouldn't recommend that its left on over night, as joe90 said
the breakdown isn't very good. This is due to the henna properties on the black walnut extract,
this was added, so that once you wash it off within the recommended time, you
would have a slight colour. If you leave it on all night, the black walnut extract,
acts like a dye and stains your skin. This will lift off before the actual tan causing it to break down quicker.

If your client can not wash it off within the recommened time, then I would advise
Them to have a 8 hour tan. If Velocity was left on over night, you wouldn't develop darker than 12%.hth

In my experiance with the velocity all of my clients love the fact that it lasts longer than any other tan and breaks down so good that they hardly need to exfoliate the last bits off and all of them have left it on for no more than the recommended 4 hrs. Plus I wear this tan myself all the time and never have a problem with it :)
